I understand that he has a family to support. And with the business he's in, how scary it must be to know you've finished one project and need to find the next. But you've got to think he (and his agent/managers) were smart enough to start planning his next project a long time before the tour ended.
I can't imagine he's in CA just lounging around saying "Ok. Now what?"
Oops, sorry it took me so long to reply :) I go to Western Illinois University, and all the article said was that he'd be here giving a concert in Jan. 2007.
I feel like part of the idea is that this way, if he moves his family out there, he can be there and look for work and not have to worry about them being at home across the country; home can be out there.
Rogue, I'm glad you liked DRS!

Adam did say on the Tony Danza show (which he was in Januray ..I think?) that he was working on a new cd. At least we have that to look forward to from him.

Yeah, but look at how long he worked on Civilian...all depends on what he's doing in California as far as when the cd comes out methinks...
Civilian was fast; Model Prisoner took forever. The gap was big, but he worked on Civilian only for like a year.

I remember Chloe posting that she read he said it should be out around Christmas.
He still has to do something else, though. CD sales alone probably can't support him.
And that's not something he'd have to be in CA for. I know there's a fall "leg" of the tour, but even that's not enough. I feel like he could just be doing the normal actor thing out there, and going on a billion auditions -- which obvioulsy would be easier to do is that were home.

Totally off topic: Anyone read any good books lately? I need some new reading material...I'm pretty open to anything....

Yeah, me too, Em. Perhaps LA affords one more opportunities to audition as well... ?
Amber, I've pretty much only read school-related books all year, except for Searching for Bobby Fischer and Without You. Um, Lord of the Flies is pretty good, if you haven't already read it.
If he's waiting for the right Broadway opportunity to come along, then I don't understand why he moved across the country. If something does come up, then he'll have to go back to New York, not to mention the stress it would put on his family. It just doesn't make sense to me.
It definitely does; film, tv....
A lot of people "move" there temporarily during pilot season, with open minds depending on what happens.
I'm in the same boat about books, but I have a whole pile to tackle this summer. Some of my favorite books, though, are 1984, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Great Gatsby and Snow Falling on Cedars; if you've never read any of those, I recommend them highly. :)

Actually guitargeek, he doesn't necessarily need to be in NY for something theatre related. A lot of Broadway shows do workshops and testing out in California, such as Wicked, before moving to Broadway out the response. He could be doing something like that. Who knows.

I wasn't aware that he was interested in doing TV and film, but I guess if he is, then disregard my previous post.

But, guitargeek, you're right in saying that he said he was waiting for the right Broadway opportunity to come along. To be honest, I wonder if he just said that to appease his fans.
He may very well be assuming that it'll be a while before it does come along, given current state. And honestly, after doing Cabaret, there's not much place to go but down, in terms of "meatiness" of roles.

There aren't any good roles for him on Broadway right now. I mean, even Raul had to leave the state to find something.
Well, I don't think he *had* to; Raul's range of capability is a lot bigger, because of his voice, and he could probably have any role he wanted.

But that's what I mean, there wasn't anything on Broadway that he DID want, you know? There isn't much there right now.
Random: last night, Fantab and I were talking about Rent, and I was thinking of who I saw play Roger -- I feel like I'm missing one and it's driving me up the wall.
Random: When I saw the end of Jonathan Lason's interview on the Broadway Beat, I almost started crying. I'm such a sucker for those type of things.
Emcee- On Broadway.com you can go to their special section on Rent the movie, & it shows like all the people who have played certain characters.
I haven't watched that yet, but I will when my roommate and I are done watching this DVD.
I just checked out that webpage. I'm still at a loss, so maybe I'm not missing any.

mmm, Cary!
...
Don't mind me.
I saw a video of Cary singing "One Song Glory" live, and I didn't like him.
