Posted: 4/4/06 at 12:52amAw you guys! I'm looking forward to finally getting a detailed report. It gets really aggravating to read that there was a Q&A session after a concert, and Adam was really funny, without one single solitary actual *example* of him being funny.

Oh... right.... silly me.
I must admit I'm somewhat charmed by the Eyelashaholics though.

A real report from the one who runs the Adam Pascal LJ community. Setlist and everything. I awwww'd a few times. And she actually got a picture WITH him.
It's a bedtime present. 'Night, guys.

Honestly? I think it's unfair that only she got a photo with him, while no one else did. I'd probably be slightly miffed if I were there and saw some LJ mod get a photo with him, while I (along with everyone else) didn't.
It's wonderful to hear he's such a sweetheart, though. I'm sure he has no idea what LiveJournal is, but I think he tried to be nice. Props to Adam.

Posted: 4/4/06 at 1:13amYeah, I think it's a bit f*cked up that some people who waiting in line for autographs didn't even get that, but this girl manages to weasel the only picture of the night out of him in addition to an autograph. Yes, she was excited, but think of the girl that posted on the main board that was among the last 10 people in line and all the others that were turned away. He could have gotten to at least a few more people if her and her friend had just kept their mouths shut and not been so selfish about getting what THEY wanted out of the experience.

It's hard for me to see any rights or wrongs in that situation, but I've never asked for anyone's autograph either. I can't really begrudge her that moment given her ten years of fandom and running that community.
This was posted on Datalounge about Adam's Cold Case episode:
A local production of Cabaret ends with the leading man being killed. They had Cabaret songs throughout the episode. The leading man was ordinary yet sexy and adorable
Good description

I see your point, Chloe, but I just don't understand why someone who's supposedly been a fan for ten years and runs a LJ community (which Adam would find bashing of his wife on if he visited) should get a photo and an autograph over someone who just went because he or she has recently become a fan.
Granted, perhaps someone who's been a fan for 10 years deserves a photo and autograph more than someone who just went because he's "the hot guy from Rent," but otherwise, I don't see how that's fair.

Posted: 4/4/06 at 1:30amI also don't think that time makes someone a bigger or better fan. Just because she's known him for 10 years and I've only known of him for about a year doesn't mean I love him or enjoy him less. I understand there is a difference, but I don't think it means that she should've gotten a picture over everyone else.

Maybe I read it wrong, but I thought the autograph session was already over when this happened, so they wouldn't have gotten anything anyway.
It's not exactly that I think anyone does or doesn't deserve extra attention - she had the balls to ask for it, and Adam responded. She must have asked in a way that wasn't too pushy or whiny, since we know he doesn't deal well with that kind of thing. I imagine if he had turned her down, if he had said he really had to leave, it could have been devastating for her. She took a risk and was rewarded, but could equally have been humilliated.

Perhaps it was in the way she worded her post. She made it sound as if only she got a photo because she was the mod of some LJ community (e.g. "I wore a t-shirt with my LJ info on it and that turned out to be my saving grace"). For whatever reason, I made the assumption that other people had likely asked for photos but weren't allowed.
Either way, it's probably a bit silly that we're debating over someone's LJ post. Ultimately, it's great to hear that he put on a good show, and perhaps I'm just latently jealous of the people who are getting to go to his shows.

"Then, I was RIGHT behind the last people that got up to the table, and he got up and said he had to leave to get to the next show (Virgina)."
WickedRentLuv posted on the main board as well about this show and said that about a bunch of people didn't get autographs because he had to leave early. That's what I was reacting too. Yes, she spoke up and they didn't, but I don't see why HER speaking up is "awww"-worthy, when if every person left spoke up, it would have been considered incredibly rude.

"But think of the girl that posted on the main board that was among the last 10 people in line and all the others that were turned away."
I guess that would be me? Hey everyone, I feel kind of like an intruder into this thread because I'll admit I haven't been an Adam fan for very long, but I decided to check out this thread after siamese dream told me about it (thanks again for the help! ^_^) I knew that I liked his voice from the RENT OBCR, and was interested in hearing some of his original music, hence the decision to go to the concert tonight. Well, I have to say I was blown away by his music, as well as the emotion he shows when he sings. I also thought he was very charming with his little bit of banter in between songs. I think I have converted to the Adam fandom tonight
And I definitely haven't been waiting ten years to get an autograph...maybe about two, and only passively at that. I honestly thought he would get to everybody, so I waited patiently in the line. However, maybe it would have paid off to jump up to him like that girl on livejournal did O.o;;; Yes, it was a little bit upsetting that she got a picture with him and no one else did. Oh well, I'll be looking out for other shows in the future now that I'm a convert ^_^ Nice to meet you all!

You're right, it is silly, and it's easy for me to be generous towards someone who has something I don't care about having myself.
Anyway, I just loved that "ordinary yet sexy and adorable" description from someone who knows nothing about him.

It really doesn't matter how long you've been a fan to post here.
Aww, Chloe you just love everyone. Which makes it hard to be annoyed with some people at times.

Hey WickedRentLuv, there's definitely no time requirement here.
Thanks, Sarah. I wouldn't say I love everybody exactly, I just seem to see both sides of an issue a lot of the time, and hate conflict and want everyone to get along. I have my blind spots too.

Sorry if I offended you with my posts, Chloe. I sympathize with those who didn't get what they wanted, but I see your point, too. It's not really a black and white issue.
Hi WickedRentLuv! Frankly, I'm sure Adam appreciates those who don't jump all over him.

Not at all, your posts have never offended me, Lexi. Like I said, I just have a tendency to see the other side in a lot of situations.
ETA: Yikes, Adam's myspace has become sort of... swollen with fangirlism.

Posted: 4/4/06 at 2:16amI feel kind of... bad for Adam, in a way. I don't know -- it's such a tricky situation and a double-edged sword. Being attractive helps you win a lot of fans, but on the other hand, it's unfortunate that he isn't taken as seriously by a vast majority of the adult Broadway fandom because of his pre-established fanbase and persona.
