It's ok, Em. I haven't even met him and I'm bummed out!
Um, at least he left the door open for a future Broadway show... ?

I've never met him either. And now all hope of it has kind of evaporated. I was just hoping to see him in another show.
It's a big step to uproot his family, so he must really feel there is more opportunity there. And I suppose Cybele can work anywhere, although, I'm not sure, cookbook aside, what she actually does.
Speaking of Cybele, isn't she going to be on TV on Wednesday? Is that the Martha Stewart day?

Its just a little questionable...leaving the door open for a new musical...but moving across the US?
I did get to see him in Aida...I was just hoping in the near future I could see him in something new...
I was thinking more in terms of emotional survival than career survival in my Depp comparison.
I'm sorry you're so down, Emcee. Wish I could help!
And Mandi, those pictures were lovely, thanks for posting them. Are you the friend in them?
The 12th, right?
I... um.... need to say something legit to him. I feel like if people are going away from me, whatever the reason, I need to say things that count, even if I've never succeeded in that before.
He's moving?! Boooo.
It is sad, but is there a lot of film or tv opportunity in New York? I can't think so, at least not on the same scale. He can't wait around for someone to write a musical that he's perfect for, he does have to work--but I truly think that if one comes up he would definitely do it.... so maybe this is only temporary. Hopefully he continues to do the musical thing, though...
Isn't Cybele the playwright in residence at Julliard? How is she going to handle that?

I understand that there's more film/tv opportunity in L.A. I just hope he succeeds, because L.A. is a whole different ballgame. And it's SO cutthroat.
The Martha Stewart date has been moved again - now it's supposed to air on April 20, next week. Aside from the cookbook, Cybele has been writing plays. I think eight or ten have been workshopped or had a small production. I imagine this will be something of a sacrifice for her, because although she can write anywhere, NYC is really the theater center.
Hee, no, Chloe. Someone posted them in the Rent community on Greatest Journal. (LJ's cousin)
Maybe her residency is ending soon?

Ughh theater people should not move to L.A.
Sorry, Mandi, I would have realized that before I asked if my mind weren't reeling somewhat.
No, they shouldn't. Haven't they seen A Chorus Line?

I didn't think she was still in residence...I could always be wrong though
To good times, yeah?

Awww.
Awww.
*sniffle*
He can't go until you admit to him that you were the Spork Girl.
She was rather recently- didn't someone know someone that saw one of her plays for a class?
...That's a big spork.
I'm not sure if it was part of her residency or if they were just producing her play.
I'll make an "I should tell you...." list.

Does that necessarily mean she's still in residence at Julliard? I know nothing about playwriting, but I don't think you'd have to be in residence to have your play workshopped.
