Maybe this will teach me that it's not good for these people to be as important to me as they are. I have to learn, don't I?
Either way, this was not the best time of the year for me to find this out.
, that's too bad..I've never got to see him in anything.
He is moving to Los Angeles with his family to wait for the right project on Broadway to come. He also said that he had a hidden talent for cartoon voices and that he would like to be in an animated feature.
Animated feature.

I hear that, Emcee. I was already all sick and depressed and emotional and now...THIS.
I think we all need a hug.
I hate LA. I wouldn't want anyone to move there in the first place, but considering it's Adam, it just makes me sad. It's so...fake. I don't want to lose him, because he'll HAVE to change to fit in/be successful there and I don't want him to.
Aww, Adam doing voices for movies would make me smile.
I've...never met him or seen him live, so him moving to LA honestly doesn't bother me too much. *shrug*
I don't really see him fitting in out there, because he hasn't let celebrity change him.

Isn't he just going to be one of thousands of pretty boys in LA? Unless he has some killer connections, I don't see why they'd cast some cute 35-year-old relative unknown over... well, anyone else who's also cute and a decent actor.

Animated movies...he should be in a new Pixar Hopefully an animated movie that doesn't totally shift all cast halfway through coughquestforcamelotcough
I dunno...I have mixed feelings. It'd be great to see him in movies/tv/whatever...but he's so good on stage, and so charismatic...filmed stuff doesn't always capture allt hat charisma. I've just gotta trust he knows what he's doing...
I don't like this.. I hope he changes his mind.

I hate L.A. And I agree that it does change you.
And a NY to L.A. move is a HUGE change/culture shock.
And YES siamese, I SO agree. He is so well-established/loved/respected here, that I don't know why he'd want to give that up.
Also, I just hate L.A. Did I mention that?
I am a firm believer that the man belongs on a stage. He *is* a performer in every sense of the word. He just has such a presence, it would be a shame to not have him up on a stage.
I was going to say that, Lexi.
I wish I could make him promise me that he will never, ever stop singing.
Em, what happened to that show you were going to write for him so that he'd stay? Slacker!

And the L.A. theater scene might as well be non-existent.
Sigh.
Okay, Broadway. It's time to pull out all the stops and come up with something fantastic so Adam will stay. Pretty please?
I realized that I have no talent.

I wish the guy all the luck in the world, but the chances of him breaking through in LA are extremely slim. I suppose the chances of him getting a huge break as far as NY-based film goes aren't huge, either, but at least he has somewhat of a name in NY.
Nonsense! The best and most creative work comes out of true emotion. Your devastation should help you create a masterpiece!
I was saying this to someone -- I think it was Fantab -- the other day. In the film industry, actors get their big breaks so much younger than they do in theatre. To be 35 and first be truly making your mark on Broadway is almost normal; but in film, that seems to happen ten or even fifteen years earlier. Adam's running late.
I feel bad about it too. Unfortunately I agree with your assessment of LA, which I occasionally visit for work. It's very fake, and the antithesis of his sort of bluntness and honesty. Well, Johnny Depp has some similar qualities and somehow managed to survive, though of course now he lives in the south of France.
Depp is electrifying on screen, though. What he has is so, so rare. Adam's good, but not that good.
I should not be as sad as I am over this. But I've been so sad in general lately that it's just another thing to pile on.

I guess I understand why he wants to break into film...but no, I don't really. I mean I understand why the idea is appealing but the stage is so much more suited to him.
And L.A. IS definitely a youth-oriented industry.
