Hey, Alix. How's your trip?
Adam ---> LA.
I mean, I'll live. It's just sad.
Strangely, the only lotto I've ever been able to win has been the Rent lotto. Not like that means a thing...
I've never won the Rent lottery.
Oh my! It's definate now? Well, I hope he's successful and finds what he's looking for.
The anniversary is so close! It's weird.
He's been doing interviews along the tour stops, and apparently he confirmed it at one of the last few. :-/
How long do you think that he'll last in LA?
I hope that I'm not going to be nervous from now until the anniversary.

Bohemian, that was me for the longest. Then I finally won on St. Patrick's Day (Luck of the Irish?)
I sort of wish I hadn't though, because I was hoping that all my luck was just saving up for the Benefit.

err, I meant to say "hoping all my luck was saving up for the Benefit". Sorry, the meds have me kind of loopy.

For some unidentifiable reason, I feel like I should comment.
Good luck to Adam In LA, I don't think he'll last ten minutes and I hope he comes back to broadway to do somethign worthwhile before fading into obscurity.
For all of you New Yorkers- life without seeing Adam is livable. You'll learn to deal.

Um, I don't think anyone said anything about life not being livable without seeing Adam. For my own part, I just hate to lose another New Yorker to L.A. And the theater scene will miss him dearly.
I don't know if you were trying to sound bitchy, but it came across that way.
Downtown, are you okay? Are you eating with that medicine and everything? :-/
I wish him all the luck in the world, but I wonder how logical this is; he's thirty-five, not twenty. But it's been a while since the rumor first popped up, so it seems as though he's done some serious thinking about it.
This makes me wonder what happened to that Pink Floyd show. I guess nothing...
Truly, honest to God, this isn't about "oh my God, now I can't see him and get a billion autographs!" If Adam sells out to make crappy movies just because he's drop-dead gorgeous, that's going to be sad; and a huge, huge loss of an actor who, with that kind of charisma, belongs on a stage, not in crappy movies. If he can find success out there, more power.

You personally might not have. If so, don't take offense to it.
If I'm too bitchy for you, feel free to block me.
Hm. So different from the old days.
At least he's not gonna do the weird NFL movie.
Well, sorry that all of us new people are ruining your precious little thread. Things change, deal with it. I think its rude of you to come into threads just to bitch at the people who are in them. If you don't like the threads, don't read them.
No one said that they couldn't live without Adam. It's a sad thing, because for now it means no more Broadway. No one here is incredibly depressed over it. Adam's exploring new venues and everyone is happy for him. Maybe if you actually read their posts you would see that no one was serious.

Yeah. Let's hope that's a sign that he hasn't sold out yet. Maybe he'll end up in indies or something. He's too old to break into mainstream good films now.

Em, yes, I'm eating as much as possible--although my stomach is feeling awful. I guess it's a side affect of the medicine. Thank you for asking. :)
insomniak, I didn't mean to start anything. I think I'm just oversensitive today. :/
And trust me, no one's too bitchy for me lol
I would've loved for him to do that movie that he and Patrick Wilson were up for -- it was an indie about a musician. Shooting Livien? Did it ever... happen at all? I think in that setting, it's going to be hard to choose the kind of work he does *and* still support his family. If he were some single dude truckin' out to LA, it would be different.
Eat things like bread and crackers, but do make sure you eat. And try to eat yogurt, it'll reverse some of the side effects. I'm sorry you have to take that stuff, it's horrid.

Yeah, I'm trying to eat as blandly as possible. My friend is supposed to go on a Walmart run today to pick me up some yogurt. Thank you for your suggestions. :)
Hmm I never heard about this movie with Patrick Wilson. Sounds interesting. Were there any other details?
As awful as it sounded I was kind of looking forward to NFL Dad *hangs head* As much as I hate movies where selfish adults are warmed by the love for a child, I thought Adam could have made it work. Maybe. Then again, it was a Chris Columbus picture..but I really don't want to have that discussion now lol.
So yeah...what was this "Shooting Livien"?
Gatorade, too. I know a lot of people don't like how it tastes, but it'll give you some of the stuff you're not getting by living on bland carbs. :)
Shooting Livien (that is what it was called) was a movie about this guy who wanted to be a rock star, or something -- but it sounded intriguing, even though I'm making it sound cliche. Adam and Patrick were up for the lead (this was over two years ago). Adam apparently had gotten it, and he would've been in almost every frame of the movie. He backed out for two reasons: one being a huge paycut, the other, and the more decisive, being that he got cast in Cabaret at the same time.

Oh wow...I understand why he didn't take it, it would have been sad if he'd never had the chance to play the Emcee. But still, that sounded like it could have been really good. Adam in every frame, how could it go wrong?
Honestly, I can't see that movie having done any better than NFL Dad. Just the way he described the budget problems, it would've lost steam in production and died I feel.

It was an indie though right? Could have become a sleeper hit possibly.
I don't know, you're right. It probably wouldn't have done that well. But it still would have been cool. Understandable why he didn't take it though.
insomniak, no one said anywhere in this thread that they couldn't live without Adam. Any complaints were about the prospect for his career, not for selfish personal reasons. And the person you were most likely intending to attack through your comment has been the most open-minded and accepting of anyone about this, so your comments are completely unwarranted and unnecessary.
downtowndiva, is it completely weird that I've heard of the song in your sig?

No, skittles, it's not weird at all! I'm thrilled. NO ONE has heard of The Dresden Dolls so I'm impressed. :)
