I'm not sure how I lucked out to only have one exam this week (next week is spring break), but it's a godsend. I would probalby quite literally fail any other exam that I had to take this week... I'm so behind, and counting on those few days when we get back from New York to be able to catch up on everything.
I also pulled a near all-nighter... sleep from 4:30-5:30, which is sort of ideal because it feels like a nap instead of sleep. And then I came back after my exam and slept.
I'm glad that you finally got to read Without You, Sarah, and that you liked it!

I'm extremely nervous right now...tomorrow we're having a Harlem Renaissance festival in one of my classes and I have to perform some songs on my guitar. I'm very nervous...any ideas on how to calm myself down?

meh. On top of all of my work, there's a ton of stuff falling very poorly into place that I simply have neither the time nor the patience to deal with right now.
Housing drama which my MOTHER wants to get involved in, but now she's mad at me because I don't know what to do and I'm mad at her because she doesn't listen to me. *rips hair out of head*
Amongst other things.
guitargeek, don't be nervous! Don't practice a ton tonight, maybe just a little bit; otherwise you'll drive yourself crazy and get more nervous.

Honestly, I thought that Anthony was kind of mean(/probably honest) when he was making fun of one of his aunts. I'm not surprised that she was offended, but thus is memoir writing, I suppose.

I'm sure that you'll be great guitargeek. Don't even bother getting nervous.
I hope that everything works out for you, Em.

Guitargeek-before I had a performance I would practice once or twice the night before, then do something relaxing for a while.

My mother has now just wasted an hour of my time because she HAD to discuss this right now, and after an hour of doing nothing but making me angry and refusal to do anything helpful, she says she has to go and we should talk later. I don't have time to have this argument with her yet again later tonight.

I don't know if this is actually a good idea or not, but once when I was nervous about something, I was given a spoonful of honey right before. I also know of a very calming breathing exercise:
Place the tip of your tongue right behind your front teeth, on the little mound of flesh there. Keep it there throughout the exercise. Close your mouth. Breathe in to the count of four. Hold your breath for a count of seven. Open your mouth to form an "O" shape and exhale with a whooshing sound for a count of eight. Repeat three more times.

I'm going to do my favourite form of relaxing: nap time.
. I also used to go tanning, I haven't been for awhile because I have to walk there and it's cold. But now, seeing as how I'm moving out of the city, I'll have to use up my minutes. I had a really bad roommate situation last year, so I used to go to escape from all that tension.

Naptime is alos my favorite form of relaxing...unfortunately no time for a nap today.
It's all about the crosswords. Everything else is child's play
In other news, I completely couldn't sing today from lack of sleep over the insanity that was getting to the book signing (and back this morning). Ooops?
Aaaaand...I think I'm going to read Without You again this weekend.

Okay, I officially give up! I've been banging my head against the wall to try and perfect my version of the movie with the deleted scenes. Well, I'm finally going to have to accept that perfect is just not going to happen. The problems I've encountered have been all over the map and I'm quitting now to spare my sanity.
The final version I came up with has a few really annoying flaws. For some strange reason, the sound hiccups at really inopportune times. It happens at the beginning, during Without You and right before What You Own. I have no idea why and no matter how many different ways I try to do the sound, it keeps happening. My apologies, but it's the best I can do. Not quite as annoying is the fact that the aspect ratio on the deleted scenes is different than the rest of the movie. Again, I tried to fix it, but just ended up causing more problems. I don't think it's a huge deal, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to such things, so it'll probably annoy me more than it will all of you.
Again, I'm sorry it's not better, but at least it's something. If I come up with a better solution, I'll let you guys know, but I'm giving it a rest for now. Thanks again for the patience.
If you'd like the link, just drop me a PM and I'll get it to you.
Any feedback, other than the annoying problems I mentioned above are greatly appreciated. :)

BG, the student paper has started putting those Suduko puzzles in the back pages of each issue. I randomly started doing on one day because I was bored and now I can't make it through some lectures without it.
Heh, my best friend actually got me a book of Sudoku puzzles for Hanukkah. I haven't really looked at it yet, but everyone I know seems to be addicted to them. My favorite kinds of puzzles are those logic grid ones - like where there are 5 dog names and 5 owner names and you're given clues that eliminate some possibilities until you match up all of the dogs wirh their owners. I'm not big on crossword puzzles, but I enjoy helping out friends or family members when they're stuck on one of the clues.
*Hugs Em*
Housing drama is not fun. I told my mom that my current roommate and I weren't going into the housing lottery for next year together (we get along pretty well, but there's a legit reason for not going in together - we both want a single bedroom, there's pretty much only one building that has suites with multiple singles, and it's a building we're not likely to get because our year is the lowest priority for building selection), and she immediately flipped out and blamed me for somehow driving my roommate away.
tlp, thank you so much for doing this!
