There was just a pineapple mention on the Oscars. It's official...I will never be able to eat, or hear about a pineapple without laughing.

You guys, I just had the most mind-numbing-yet-hysterical AIM conversation with my mother. About Sweeney. She said that Mano wasn't cute til I said he was straight and single and now she says I should ask how old he is. aaah.

He says early thirties. He looks so young that my guess is he's telling the truth.

I was just saying to Lexi in PM that I think age gaps are contigent upon the acutal ages. Like, at this point, I don't think ten years is a lot -- especially in terms of pure friendship.
But being realistic, if I were to date ANYONE who was ten years older than me, my mother would certainly have what to say.
And not like this would happen.

LOL my parents are 6 years apart--but I think 10(+?) is too much.

Agreed Em. I think it just boils down to maturity. It's amazing how little I notice age...I have quite a few friends who are quite a bit older than me.

*pops in* My parents are good friends with a married couple with a 10-year age difference. So maybe there's hope.
*threadjack* Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go check on my cinnamon rolls.

Elphie, I noticed that. I was zoning out and that word just stuck out. Hee.
I'm completely with Em on the age gap rationale. If the younger person in a relationship with a ten-year age gap is 21-ish, I don't think it's such a big deal. A 15-year-old dating a 25-year-old would be strange in my eyes. I would assume most people agree with that.
However, even if I were to date someone 5 years older than me at 18, my mom would flip.

Once you get well into your twenties, age differences become much less important.
