Eh, Adam and Cybele both have interesting facial expressions in that picture that I'm not loving. But their clothes look great
I like his hair in that picture. Good color - I approve.
Cybele's expression is scary.
Nice fashion choice by Adam. NICE. Where's it from?
Raul looks really sweet. As always.

And yeah, Raul would have no way to prove his sexuality (AT ALL) but in the same vein, unless he has tangible evidence, can press prove it either? It's all so messy. But because of the implications, I've got to believe there's something that can be won in a suit over it, if it were to happen. I don't know enough about law, but there's gotta be.
Well... the press really doesn't have to. If Raul can't prove that the statements made were definitively false (along with malicious intent), he can't win the suit. So many gossip magazines exist with relatively few lawsuits compared to the amount of BS they publish because of how hard it is in the US legal system to win a libel case. Sexuality is an especially murky area and since it's so hard to win a suit centered around that -- along with the fact that many celebs don't want to discuss their sexual history in court -- allow for the perpetration of so many gay rumors. I don't know how familiar this thread is with sports gossip, but there was a scandal around 2002 involving gay rumors about Mets catcher Mike Piazza. He went so far as to hold a press conference to say that he isn't gay, but he never sued the publications and networks that were perpetrating the rumor. (Turns out he's heteroflexible, but that's another story.)
I also don't know enough about the law to comment on your last statement other than to say that I'm sure that the law does allow for people to win lawsuits when they truly have had lies spread about their sexuality. The only thing I can definitely say is that in this specific instance regarding Raul, there is absolutely no way he could win a libel/slander trial involving his sexuality considering he obviously has engaged in such activities.
I love the suit jacket/jeans look, too! It reminds me of this kid I crushed on for so long. He totally had the dressy-yet-messy look down. According to the caption, it's from the "Shakespeare in the Park 2005 After Party." :)

Wow, I'm apparently a really slow typer. Em, to address your post about emotional damages ("pain and suffering") -- I'm really not sure. The only info that I'm 100% sure about is what I said about libel/slander because I had to write an extremely long paper about those types of cases.
Opiv, I really don't mind Cybele at all and I think it's immature when the fangirls feel the need to type that they think she's ugly a thousand times, but I agree. You're married to Adam freaking Pascal -- smile a bit!

Sorry, CS. I always feel bad when I take this thread down a nerdy route!
I think that in reality, the good thing about him being strictly a stage actor is that press in the theatre community works in a completely different way than it does in the film industry and in Hollywood culture. There's so much more of a repoire between the press and the artists, and for the most part, it feels like there's a lot more respect. I think that even as evil as Reidel is, there's a line that even he wouldn't cross. I hope, anyway. But like... with theatre, it's not seen as a death wish if you come out of the closet. In Hollywood, it sort of is. Of course, this case is messier than most, but I don't think it could hurt his career at all.
So, those were pretty pictures way back there.
Ya, some of the Fangirls take it too far.
It's almost weird to see Adam wearing normal clothes. I'm so used to pictures of him wearing hideously loud shirts.

Yeah, I remember that.
Huh? Wha? Pictures.
Sorry, I don't understand anything about lawsuits or anything. And I'm not even interested in my own country's legal system.
Hi - long work day. Did I miss anything important? And just to add my two cents about the whole libel situation, my impression, gained only from being peripherally in show biz, is that the very wealthy superstars can use all that money to buy off or intimidate others legally. It's not that they would necessarily win in court, as that the other parties rarely have the means to fight on the same level. It's probably a different story for someone without the big bucks.
Em, his wife probably dressed him
Heteroflexible. That's a good word.

Can I be random?
I want to hear Raul sing "Johanna".

It's really sad. I remember a LJ post that basically degenerated into bashing Cybele. It's cool if you don't think she's attractive, and I realize that the internet allows for pretty much open bashing on anyone you dislike for whatever reason, but ultimately the people who feel the need to repeat over and over that she's unattractive just make themselves look immature (not to mention green with envy).
Em, this is for you because of THE ARMS. Heh:
This whole thread is random. No need to ask permission.
The man SERIOUSLY DOES NOT OWN ANOTHER T-SHIRT. Jeez.
Oh my god... Raul singing Johanna... I'd die. Not While I'm Around was amazing enough.

I just don't like the fangirls who hate SIMPLY because they're like "pft, he should be married to me!!"
I think photographers just like the Dirty Sanchez t-shirt.
Good Point, Em.
I want a Dirty Sanchez shirt.
