I think I'm sort of the other way... I have people telling me I should get into theatre, whether it be teaching or acting, but I just don't know. I'd love to act, but I've just had bad experiences with post-secondary education, and am now at the point where I'm very weary of going to school. At least for the time being. Gah, I don't know what I'm going to end up doing.
Your lucky Mel. My school has a huge selection of electives but you have like no room in your schedule! *sigh*
I know i want to study something in the theater department, but id don't know what either. I really would love to dance, but the chances are slim and i need a backup.
I hope things go better Em. It will all be ok soon
Parents are there to tell you that you're wrong and second-guess every decision you make- regardless of what it is. I've gotten to the point where I don't talk about classes and stuff with them, because I know it's just going to end in an argument.
IHC, what type of dance do you do?
I think I have enough room for it..but that means i'll have to be in school at 7. I can't sing/dance/act so I know I wouldn't do anythign like that and I don't really know what else there is to do. Well I can dance..but i'm no broadway dancer.

I do everything, except hip hop. Tap, lyrical, ballet, pointe, broadway jazz..etc. I really love it and would love to persue it as a career. I know i would definitly audition when i'm older, but i still need something else that interests me as a backup.
Tap is my favorite. I just pick it up real quick. I do broadway tap
I can't/don't either, Mel. But that shouldn't stop you!
I think I'm gonna take dance classes again next year. I love dance, it makes me happy =) haha.
Are you be interested in anything in more of the behind the scenes aspect of dance? There are tons of things relating to dance that don't involve the performance aspect.
I can't/don't dance. Or sing, but I've never really had the desire to.
I wish i could sing :/
Mel, you should take some classes at Broadway Dance Center. They are fun I personally love the theater dance class with Monroe (sp?)

I don't dance, or act, but I do sing. I love being in choirs. I love doing backstage theater stuff, and I've worked backstage for a few dance recitals. Yay for Techies!
The closest to singing I've gotten to was at my bat mitzvah.
Emcee - My brother is a freshman in college, and he plans on majoring in neuroscience. He is the math/science wiz in our family.
I, on the other hand...I'm the polar opposite. I love writing and artsy things, especially music and theatre. I'm hoping to become a writer and/or journalist when I, well, grow up. I can't stand math and science. The fact that math can't be interpreted, and that it's so absolute really bugs me. So I excel in history and literature, subjects that allow many intepretations and opinions.

Fantab, thats one of the reasons I didnt want a Bat Mitzva.
I'm good at math. I just hate it.
I think my bat mitzvah was also my last public singing experience.
I have lovely video that captured the moment. I hope I'm never forced to watch them ever again.
My sister is mad that she isnt having a Bat Mitzva, were not very religious.
I can't go to Anthony's signing! araaghhh!!! I hate when my parents just decide to change their minds!!! gahhh
There's at least one more in NY. Maybe you can go then?
I think someone spiked one of my friend's drinks at my bat mitzvah...she tore the microphone from another girl's hand and started singing along with a Michael Jackson song horribly. Then she attempted to dance like him.
Let's just say that the memory will be forever kept in my bat mitzvah album.
Interesting! I actually am hoping to do neuroscience stuff, but it's true that it's A LOT of science. We don't have a specific neuroscience major, so I'm just double-majoring in psychology and biology, the latter of which requires extra calculus, general and organic chemistry and physics. So... sometimes I really wish I were just doing psychology. It's so fascinating, though. I'm in a class right now on neurochemical regulation, and it's defintiely the most interesting class I've taken for a few semesters. Updated On: 2/11/06 at 03:57 PM
Broadway Dance Center <-- is that NYC? I don't think my mom would let me go there even though it's only a train ride away.
I'll be back on later, i'm baking yummy food
BDC is in NYC. Although, it may be moving locations soon (still in NYC). I think they were having some problems with their lease.
IHC - do you go to Steps?
