I should have worded that differently -- I wasn't worried about how the song would sound with the pronouns changed, I just wanted to know if he'd change them like in Maybe This Time. Speaking of Maybe This Time, I personally don't feel the song is right for his voice; I absolutely love the song and I think his voice itself sounds amazing on it, but they just don't seem to go hand in hand.
Maybe it's that the sentiments in the song are more typical of a woman than a man.
I think Adam would laugh at this:

I'm not sure I thought of that as much as I think the song is more appropriate for a lighter female voice.
Ah, rentsecrets. I totally still check them.
So do I. I'm so weak.
It really surprises me that people are shocked and scandalized by Just Here to the Left of You. I assume these aren't the same girls writing pornographic slash fanfic, but it would be hysterical if it was.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I obviously don't know if they're the same people who are writing slash fanfic, but if they are, I assume it's because they can dissociate the characters from the actors while Just Here is written and sung by Adam.
Hey everybody! I'm back
I was on this cruise, & they had a channel w/ just music videos. They were the same videos all the time. & they played Seasons of Love! I was really surprised. But that's it.
Em- I think you're the same age as my sister, who is 21.
I had so much Adam/BWW/So You Think You Can Dance withdrawl. But less then I expected. The thread has been a bit slow these days, as I went back to read all the messages. So what's up with everybody?
Oh well, I also still check Rentsecrets. They're so bad, but it's fun (yet aggravating) to see what other fans are thinking.
I'm a little younger, Angela; I turned 20 a few months ago. :)
Congrats on finishing work, Lexi! It's been a long time in coming. It's a pity that new employee only started today.
I'd really like to hear him sing something else by Jason Robert Brown... he does a great job with Flying Home. Maybe something else from Songs for a New World? "I'd Give it All For You" is such a pretty duet. I don't think that Brooks Ashmanskas' songs are quite dramatic enough vocally, though, and Ty Taylor's other ones don't quite fit.
Adam does a great job with I Don't Care Much, which is one of my favorite songs from Cabaret. Raul is probably my favorite Emcee overall, but I think that's a song that requires subtlety and he's just way over the top.
Hopefully your cruise was fun, Angela.
Welcome back, Angela. At least you got a little SOL fix while you were away.
Ashley, I agree that Adam has a sort of unexpected subtlety in a lot of his singing. Even when he gets loud and dramatic, he doesn't showboat.

*hugs thread* There's nothing like the good ol' Adam thread to make your day a whole light brighter.
Angela-I hope you had fun on your cruise!
I also would love to hear Adam sing 'Nobody Needs to Know' from The Last Five Years. I think he would do a great job. I love his rendition of 'Flying Home' as well. More Jason Robert Brown for Adam!

Except during maybe I'm With You, Chloe.
I unfortunately don't know anything about Songs for a New World. I'd love to hear Adam sing Shiksa Goddess and Nobody Needs to Know, but everyone knows that already.
ETA: Whoa, ponine and I had the same thought at the same time!

Great minds think alike.
Ponine, you may get in trouble for using that photo...
Going back a bit, I'm in love with Johnny Depp. My parents went to LA last year and my mom took a picture of his signature and hand print and brought me back Edward Scissorhands.
I think it's nice that Adam's singing songs that we've never heard him sing before. As much as I would love a CD of him singing anything, it would be nice to hear some new stuff, even if he's just doing the girl parts to all his shows.
I want him and Julia to do L5Y.
It would just be cool to see him sing anything from that show, but yeah, you guys picked out the songs that'd be most interesting.
Ty's other songs (there are two men in Songs for a New World, and everything's really loosely linked together) would be awesome in terms of range and stuff, but they're just too R&B and like... reference-wise wouldn't work at all (it would be weird for Adam to sing about basketball, for example).
Aw, and it's such a great photo.
Anyone know where this photo is from? Why would he be blushing?

Isn't that the Access Hollywood interview where the cast members interviewed each other?
Yes it is, Lexi. It's cute, but very short. I believe it's at Adam-Pascal.com's Media Section, if anybody wants to check it out.
Ah right, I just couldn't place it. I think that's when he was reading the questions on cards. It's hard for me to imagine that much of anything makes him blush.
Yeah, that is where they interviewed each other. Maybe it's from the part when Rosario says, "they say that I have the best ass below 14th street. Is it true?" and Adam goes, "it is true!"
Opening night hyperness!!! (plus exclamation points and most likely typos that make me sound like some of the kids on the IMDb Rent boards). Chicago opened tonight, and amazingly no screwups. Hitch-less, you could say. I didn't get dropped either. I love great first shows - it's so encouraging. I can't wait until tomorrow: next show! Opening night cast parties are fairly lame, though, because you can't scream and eat whatever you want because there's another show. Basically it's just people drinking water and congratulating each other in low voices. And then this guy who turned out to be a professionally trained actor from NYC told me I should definitely pursue theater and consider it as a major. I realized afterward that my heavy stage makeup mascara had formed these rings under my eyebrows, so I'm sure I looked appropriately professional. Anway, hope everyone has a great weekend and sorry for the spaz out.
Congrats Ariella! That's so cool that you got "spotted" or whatever they call it.
Adam seems like he has such a masculine exterior, since he's a rocker. But I guess deep down, Adam has feelings (gasp!), as we've learned with his music.

Spazzing out is good once in a while, Ariella. :) I'm happy that your opening night was great. I'd love to play Roxie or Velma in Chicago.
ETA: I agree, Angela, but where did that come from?
Updated On: 8/19/06 at 12:25 AM
It would be fun to play Velma, to do the show from a different perspective. I definitely don't have the dancing background for some of the stuff they do in "All That Jazz." Dancing is definitely my weakest link. I'm glad I didn't fall flat on my face.
Lexi- Chloe was talking about how it would be hard to imagine that "much of anything" makes Adam blush.
Right, he doesn't seem easily embarrassed, but I do think he has very strong feelings and the contrast you mentioned is really interesting.
ETA: Ariella, congratulations! Sounds like a great show. Do you think you want to pursue acting?
