"I blame it all on Shakespeare. He stole all my ideas like three hundred years before I was even born. He futuristically ruined my career."
I heard something like that too, Lexi, but I don't remember the exact number.
Random voiceover-related fact: The voice Seth MacFarlane uses for Brian is his normal voice.

Was anyone a Daria fan? I like Family Guy to an extent, but that's my all-time favorite cartoon. She's my alter ego.

(raises hand) Daria fan here. My parents and I LOVED that show. My mother claims that Daria's her, as well.

I LOOOOVE Daria! I still randomly will burst out with "OUTLET SHOPPING!" ala Brittany whenever I pass by them.
It's been years since I've seen it since the only place they show it these days is Noggin (which I don't have) and *still* haven't released them on DVD, except for a few select episodes. Bleh. Stupid Viacom.

DARIA!
I adored Daria...my kind of comedy. I miss her...and her snarky commentary

Daria really is not me at all, but her character is representative of all the thoughts that go through my head that I often don't say.
Trent Lane is the hottest cartoon character ever.
I kind of wish that show was still on. So good.

"Oh my god, are my pores showing?! TURN OFF THE CAMERA!"
Ok sorry...Quinn was just so obnoxious.
I always remember the episode when it was career day and she mentioned how unfair it was to be not even 18 and choosing her life path...that would no doubt be completely wrong as she would find out when she was 40. Okay, she said it far better than I did, but that was a great episode...

I agree, skittles. I always thought he was patterned after Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails.
I have all the episodes in super-poor quality on CDs somewhere.
I love Daria. They used to show it like 3AM on Noggin last summer, it was great.
I'm sure I could find them somewhere unofficially, but I just wish they would actually release them. It was a great show and it would probably sell rather well.

I agree. There's actually been an ongoing online petition for the release of Daria on DVD for the last few years, but MTV is obviously too preoccupied with shows like My Super Sweet 16.
My Super Sweet 16 is some quality entertainment. Or something.
I just laugh whenever I watch My Super sweet 16. Those girls are ridiculous!
I only got to see Daria a couple of times, but it was really good. I wish I remembered more about it now.
That show is sooo funny.

If you're interested, Chloe, there are two DVDs out the two Daria movies, along with two great episodes on each DVD. They're titled Is It Fall Yet? and Is It College Yet? I've watched them many times, and I'm still not tired of them. Check them out if you have a chance.
I'll look out for them. Are they usually on rental at Blockbuster?

Blockbuster.com yields both results, so I'd assume so, but I don't know. I never rent movies from there.
I think you'd enjoy them. The writing is so brilliant.
Sorry, just got off a long phone call.
From what I remember, the writing was really great.
So now I'm buying Last Five Years and renting some Daria DVDs. Who knew BWW would end up costing so much? (j/k)

Haha! Well, I did offer to send you L5Y. :P
I feel like this is the time I should ask you to recommend something to us!
I just remembered something embarassing that I did a few months ago and I wish there was a function on BWW that knew when you were overly-medicated/drunk/otherwise cognitively compromised and disabled your PMing ability. It turned out okay, but still.

Do you have a confession to make, skittles? Heh.
There are things I did years ago that I still feel that way about. I don't even have the excuse of being impaired at the time.
Here's something I wholeheartedly recommend if you can find it - The Night of the Hunter, the only movie directed by Charles Laughton. It stars Robert Mitchum and Lillian Gish and is absolutely magical in a rather dark way. I'm not sure how easy it is to find though. The last time I saw it was in one of the revival houses in Manhattan that has since disappeared, along with most of the rest.
