Category?

Do you mean did I like it? Well its Brecht, so I expected it to be different. But I think they feel short. I honestly had such a hard time following it during the first act.

Alan Cumming was wonderful, as was Jime Dale and Cyndi Lauper (surprisingly) but for the show itself? I didn't like it.

I did go on the big white roller coaster elphie! It was fun! Alex I don't think there was one named that. Maybe it's at a different Six Flags.

Hi - quiet day today. It was raining all morning and I didn't wake up until noon. re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

Cybele updated her blog. She's upset about the fact that labeling laws changed since her book came out, which means that some products she recommended now say they're made in plants that also process peanuts. As a result, a couple of people have written really nasty reviews on Amazon. This kind of stuff is why I would never want to be in the public eye.

Wow, that's not a good place for Cybele to be stuck. No fun at all!

In other Rent related news, I just read the list of the new shows that are going to be on ABC this fall and one of them (summary below) has Taye as the main character! Not too sure how I feel about the sound of the show but I'll give it a try. Most interesting to me was that in the cast list it said, "Taye Diggs (Rent)" as opposed to Stella. I guess since Rent is the most recent.

Day Break” (one-hour) – We’ve all had bad days… the kind of day where nothing goes our way and we just can’t wait to put it behind us. Detective Brett Hopper is having one of those hellacious days… only he can’t put it behind him because
he’s living the same day over and over again.

On this particular day, Hopper will be accused of killing Asst. DA Alberto Garza. He will offer a solid alibi which no one will believe. He will realize he's been framed. And he will run, discovering en route that not only he, but his loved ones, are also in danger. He’ll then wake up and relive the same day
over and over again. In order to break the cycle and move on, he will have to figure out who framed him and solve the complex mystery surrounding Garza’s death. He will also be forced to heal the fractured relationships with those he loves. Only when Harper figures out why his life is broken and how to fix it
will he awaken to a brand new day.

That labelling law is both a blessing and a curse, I think. It, in my eyes, is one of the only positive things Bush has done in his time as president. And, as much as I disparage him, I'm thankful for the passage of that law, FINALLY. However, it's turning up all over the place that things are now unsafe.

JLSatUD-The show sounds kind of like the movie "Groundhog Day" where he has to keep re-living the same day over and over again. I don't know if I'd like a show like that, but I'll give it a try. Thanks for the update.

I can see how the law makes things easier for you, Emcee, while limiting your choices even more. Also, some people with peanut allergies seem to be hyper, hyper sensitive and will react to the smell of peanuts in a room, while others have a more normal range of response. Where do you fall?

That show sounds very interesting to me, JL. I think Groundhog Day is a really good movie, and if the writers on the show do half as well, it could be fun to watch.

I just remembered that I'm going to see Spamalot tomorrow after school with the rest of the Drama Club! Yay! I'm really excited now.

Off-Broadway Booking posted the following on the Adam LJ site:

Hello all! Off Broadway Booking, as most of you know, is the agency that booked Adam's past tour, and we will be booking him again! If you'd like to have Adam, or any of our other shows, on your campus or at a special event, feel free to drop us a line through our LJ, Myspace or our company site www.offbroadwaybooking.com. You can find out all about upcoming shows, events and albums by friending us here, as well as joining our community offbwaybooking1

A lot of people have responded on that thread with comments like "Adam needs to come to Colorado." I'm not sure if anyone understands how booking works, like that the agency needs a specific school who is willing to pay to have him there.

I'm gonna talk to some people; I doubt I can come up with the kind of money they'd be asking for within the school community -- especially considering that I can't just ask clubs for money, since I have no affiliation: I can't be like "hi, gimme your money."

I'm just praying that he doesn't tour the west coast without touring the east coast as well.

It does sound like they're open for anything, at least. I would imagine one problem with getting an NYC school to book him is that there's such an enormous amount of entertainment already available in the city, why bother?

I'm still wondering what happened with R/J Productions and Adam's supposed gig in October out here.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask for information; but the thing is that the opinion here is if we can get world-reknowned politicians to speak for free, why pay some singing actor? Which is understandable.

It just... he would be blatantly dumb not to make sure he did a show in New York City.

I would imagine it was initially booked before Adam made definitive plans to move. The cancellation certainly doesn't bode well for an east coast tour.

It wasn't cancelled, exactly, it's just that the site disappeared, and the agency, which is listed as representing a number of artists, seems to be nowhere online also.

Oh, I was under the impression that the Long Island date disappeared like the Queens date. My mistake. That certainly is very odd, though.

Right, what used to be their whole site is now some sort of sales directory thing. When I googled them, nothing else came up as a site for them.

I need to rant, but I feel that it is not for the banal thread at the moment as a more important rant was posted.

My brother's laptop is messed up. My roommate and I tried connecting it to the internet on Saturday, to no avail. Now his computer is really slow, I believe it is a memory issue because he has a few movies on his computers. He claims that he had no problems until I touched it. Which is bull seeing as how when we turned it on it was giving us problems before we even did anything. I'm the one in my family that knows the most about computers, and as many of you know, it's not much. So they're all yelling at me to fix his stupid computer and they don't believe me when I tell them what I think is wrong with it. I'm so tired of them all on me for breaking it when I didn't do a damn thing. And no matter how many times I tell them that they don't believe me.

Sorry to hear that, Sarah. Being a Mac owner, I don't know much about this, but what you describe sounds like what a lot of people say are virus problems. Maybe they coincidentally started to cause problems when you used his computer.

I have no idea. His computer won't even turn off now because it's still loading his settings, and they're all pissed at me. His internet explorer has no address bar, and that was like that before we got to it. I was having internet trouble when I ran out of memory a couple years ago, but that's my best guess.

You can generally right click somewhere on the toolbar for Internet Explorer and check the "Address Bar" option.
