I'm not sure if most people have all four out at once or not, but the surgeon who did mine said there was absolutely no way he would do that with me because I didn't weigh enough to handle all of the Novocaine it would require.

I think we weigh around the same amount, but I'll just cross my fingers and hope that my doctor knows what he's doing.
They're actually giving me laughing gas before they insert the needle, so I really have absolutely no reason to be fearful as I'll be pretty gone by that time, but I'm still scared.
I'm trying to think of an Adam-related topic to discuss, but the well is dry.
Keep in mind that it's a different set of circumstances. My surgeon didn't believe in using general anesthesia and putting patients to sleep for the procedure, so the more teeth pulled, the more local anesthetic I would need.
I imagine that would be a lot of local anesthetic.
Actually Lexi, we could talk about your reply on the other thread to what question you'd most like to ask Adam. You said you'd ask him what his three greatest regrets are. That surprised me - what made you think of that?

Eep, Lexi, good luck!
I don't think I have wisdom teeth.

Ooooh, okay, Jessica. That makes me feel a bit better. :)
As for the question -- I think it's an incredibly open-ended question that allows for more of a response than, say, "What's a cellophane sun?" and something gossipy like, "How was dating Daphne?", both things that would be interesting to know but questions that wouldn't really allow him to pick out things on which he places value. It's also a question that would really lend some insight into his personality and psyche in general.
Elphie, sometimes wisdom teeth don't show up until your thirties. I wonder why our jaws have evolved so as not to have room for all our teeth anymore?
That's an interesting point of view, Lexi, and I'm sure you're right. I've often thought of questions I'd like to ask, but never thought of that. I think he might be a difficult interview subject because I'm not sure he likes being analytical in that way.
Chloe, x-rays of my mouth and jaw have shown no teeth there, and one of my dentists thought I had already had them removed, but I hadn't. So, hopefully, I don't have them.
Lucky you, if that's the case. Maybe not having them at all is the next evolutionary step.
Elphie, you're very lucky. I have relatives who somehow had extra teeth beyond just the wisdom teeth. Thankfully, I don't appear to have inherited that trait.

I think that's what Chloe means, though -- they sometimes don't start developing until your thirties, right? I hope you don't have them, though!
I understand what you're saying, Chloe, and I agree. I'm not sure that he'd be willing to rack his brains on the spot to come up with three definitive answers, but provided that I knew he'd fully answer the question ahead of time, that would be my question. Some less open-ended questions that I'd like to ask would probably be the meaning behind some of his songs and who or what they're about and something about women in general, although I'm not sure what. Asking for his views on women falls into that extremely open-ended category again, but perhaps something along those lines.
ETA: Okay, maybe that's not what she means. I should stop speaking for others!

I don't really know, Lexi - mine didn't start showing up until late, but I'm not sure if X-rays would have shown them lying in wait earlier on or not.
I've come up with a lot of questions about the songs too. Adam strikes me as one of those relatively rare men who like women as people as well as being attracted to them. Maybe that's partly why women like *him* so much. I think a lot of problems between men and women are because so many of us bring baggage of resentment toward the other sex. One of my friends has even said outright that she doesn't like men (though she's married to one.)

I am missing 5 of my adult teeth anyway, they're just...not there. That's why I had to have braces. Hopefully, my wisdom teeth are mia in the same way.
I think it's a really interesting question to ask Adam. I hope someone, someday, gets the chance.
eek, Lexi, that's scary.

I'd agree with that, Chloe. I think he seems like a very emotionally available and warm person in general.
I think it's natural to wonder what songs or anything poetry-like truly means. It's probably part of the reason why we enjoy music in general. Although we'd love to know the real meaning behind a song, we also like to relate our own life experiences to a song or an emotion found in a song. Perhaps I'm just speaking for myself, though.
Emcee, did you see the screencaps (which you told me how to make)? I'm inordinately proud of them for no good reason.
Good luck Lexi! I'm getting mine out on the 21st. I just hope I recover quickly. I have a tendency to faint or get dehydrated when given anesthesia (and I've only had local before).
There are so many ATW seminars I want to watch because of just one actor. The stuff in between I often find interesting but it gets long so I fast forward through until the actor's face comes on the screen and just watch them talk for the most part. That risks missing a few side comments, but it saves a lot of time. I love watching them all talk on those seminars.

Thanks, Alix (I think it's funny that we have three variations of that name on this thread ). Good luck to you too. Are you getting all four of them extracted as well?
Looking through the American Theatre Wing seminar site right now, there are a few names that I recognize and would be interested in watching, but I don't feel like fast-forwarding so much.
I got my bottom wisdom teeth out in third grade (eek!) They didn't have to put me under anesthesia, but they numbed my mouth so that I didn't feel a thing. My cheeks were swollen for about a week afterward, but it was painless.
My merciless teacher called me "Chipmunk cheeks" when I got back to school. >_>
Good luck, Lexi! Don't worry - if I could survive it as a puny third grader you will be able to! ^_^
I just went back and saw them, Chloe. I love them.

Thanks, guitargeek.
I should probably apologize in advance for any medication-induced ramblings that may occur around the date of June 1.
I just put on one of the seminar videos. From the first shot of him, Adam looks a bit unenthused, although I think I would be as well if I were in his position.
I think medication-induced ramblings are fun...
The ATW seminars are great. I've yet to watch Adam's, but I've seen a few others, and they're so interesting.

Hah. My typing tends to mirror my speech, or at least my thought processes, so I'll be all ADAM TAKE ME NOOOOW.
I'm not sure if he sounds sick in this video or if his voice has just changed a lot.
Which one are you looking at, the Rent or Aida one?
I'm rather looking forward to June 1st now...
