"ahem!"
No need to cough. You're impossible to ignore.
I agree that you can overdo it, Priest. When some kids get out in the real world, it just overwhelms them and they can end up in some pretty bad situations because they don't know enough. But there's no need to start letting ten year olds watch R-rated movies.
Actually, she's going into 6th grade on Thursday. I'm sure she'll get quite the education there. She's been going to a Jewish school since 1st grade, so it's been pretty tame, but public school? hoo boy.
Do you have a tickle in your throat, Em?
No. Just a hairball.
My sister isn't allowed to watch pg13 movies yet, and neither was I. I still haven't seen an R rated movie, and I'm nearly 18. I think I'm just gonna wait for RENT.

Still?
That is overdoing it. No offense meant, but haven't you even seen one while with a friend? At their house?
See, I'm so liberal when it comes to stuff like that...
I mean, I totally agree with making sure kids don't watch violence, but I don't see anything wrong with other stuff...
I never understand why some parents let their kids see movies like Gladiator and Braveheart (which are superb movies, but way too violent for most kids), but then freak out about a woman's breast being shown or something...

Breasts aren't awful, but I wouldn't show my elementary schooler movies with sex scenes. That carefree stage is crucial to imaginative development.
And no kid could appreciate the movies you mentioned, Priest, so why bother? It's just violence to them.
Well, to be honest, there haven't really been any R rated movies I've wanted to see. I mean, I could have if I wanted to, but I've really had no desire until now.
Well, yeah.
I'm not saying go off and show Y Tu Mama Tambien to your 5th grader...
Which, by the way, if any of you haven't seen, go see it now!
That is if you're 17, as I believe it is NC-17.
But it is one amazing movie.
A tit is a tit
Take a lot or a bit
Killing is just killing
But not as bad as filling
Your mouth with a bit of a tit
That is what is called porn

The thing I really hate is when people get riled up about stupid things being shown to people who know all about them anyway. A teacher at my school got in trouble for showing Amelie (which features breast feeding) to high schoolers. Absolutely ridiculous.
I need to see Amelie! My friend and I had a date to watch it together, but somehow that never panned out.
See, I just don't understand that at ALL!
Breastfeeding is as natural as anything...
Why do people see something that natural as something that should be hidden or something.
Grant you, its not anything I -want- to see...
My English prof showed 28 Days Later...and warned us about the penis.

Breastfeeding isn't sexual and honestly, I'd be fine with a child of any age seeing that.
Thenardier, that was probably a good idea. I don't know what your school is like, but several people in mine would have declined the offer to view a movie with male nudity. If someone really doesn't want to see it, I think it's good to let them out.
Well, college is different...but no one said anything - everyone just watched.
And that's it. It's skin.
Tits and male bits are just skin....
We've watched othe French movies in French class and there has been breastfeeding and boys running around naked, and no one says anything about it. I guess other cultures aren't as uptight as we are.
Have known of you all seen Y Tu Mama Tambien???
Awwww. Go see it.
I have. Everyone else on this thread is underaged.
I loved it.

I guess your college is nothing like my high school...
And Elphie, they aren't. The United States is just backwards and by making such a stink about these bits of skin, they only emphasize what they want people to ignore.
