It's on Wednesday, and sort of.

I did know that, sorry. Good luck, remember the first soda is on me on Wednesday.
I finished my writing projects at the office.

After my last final for the first semester of my sophomore year, I jumped in a car and drove 700 miles to meet my future wife's family for the first time. (I was 19.)
aww, that's cute.
I feel really nervous/nauseous right now, and I'm not sure whether it's more about my accounting final tomorrow or how the strike is going to affect my ability to go home afterwards. I don't even know if my mom will be able to get into the city to help me take stuff home from my dorm
So yesterday, I saw my friend and told her about meeting Adam, because she's a fan of his as well. She hit me and told me she hated me.

I'm sorry Billboard girl!! I hope everything works out!
Cute story brdlwyr. Btw, does brdwlyr by any chance stand for broadway lawyer? Cause that's how I always read it.
My brother has a friend who almost hyperventilated when he told her I've met Anthony.
f*cking strike. UGH.
The only reason I wouldn't object to this strike is the fact that I won't have to start class until 9;30. However, it's a mighty long walk to get to school.
Congrats, Siamese!
Is the strike actually happening? I have no idea what's going on.
it hopefully won't last long, but I think it'll be starting at 12:01 tonight.
As of right now there is nothing, but they keep saying that progress is very little. I hope the strike doens't last very long. If it lasts until Wednesday, there's a chance my concert could be cancelled (which might not be such a bad thing, but still...).
Elphie, unless a miracle occurs within the next 2 hours, the strike is happening. What makes it suck even worse is that if the strike happens, then during certain times of the day vehicles with less than 4 occupants won't be allowed into or out of Manhattan (translation: if I can't take the subway home, chances are I won't be able to take a cab either).
yea, it's going to take forever or pure luck to catch a cab if everyone else is trying to do the same thing.
I'm also worried because the last time there was a strike in the 70s they striked for 10 days. It's my winter break and I want to be able to see all my friends, but we all live so far away that we wouldn't be able to see each other without subways.
I wish more of my friends cared...or even knew who most of the broadway ppl are that I mention knowing...
Ulgh, I was planning on seeing Newsical tomorrow but from what ppl are saying the strike will do to the # of cars on the road and traffic and stuff it may not be worth it...which sucks b/c I don't have too many days before it closes that I can see it

Wickedrent, I think a lot of us are in the same position with regards to friends and Broadway. I happen to have a very good friend who loves the same musicals I do, but other than that, the extent of Broadway with most of my friends is usually along the lines of, "Wow, Roger is hot!"
This strike really sucks for you guys - I'm sorry!! But when they are not being silly and striking I really envy you for your public transportation. I live 1/2 hour outside Baltimore and it's either drive yourself or hitch a ride on the nearest cow. :) I would love to be able to jump on a train and visit people or see a show or eat! But alas ... when something like a strike happens you are powerless and that sucks royally.
Don't commit suicide by kool aid! Adulthood isn't THAT bad ... I mean, I'm here aren't I? :)
I'm actually happy that I don't live in NYC right now.
Mandi, I just got the funniest Anthony screencap from Road Trip, which your avatar reminded me of, but I didn't save it. He was pouting, and it was so cute.
The only way I'm impacted by the strike is because I have to drive home Wednesday night, which is going to be hellish if there are more people on the roads here. UGH.

That bites, Emcee.
Do you have a car on campus? I didn't think a New York school would allow that.
JLSatUD, I was talking to someone about this yesterday. I know everyone in NYC now hates that they're so dependent on public transportation, but I *wish* DC's Metro was as cheap and convenient as the subway.
No, very few people have cars here. No place to put one, and you definitely don't need one. My dad's picking me up.
