That's what I figured. As much as I like Stroman's work, they probably needed a film director.

The sets, costumes, the script... carbon copy. Very uninspired.
*grinds teeth in angry misery*
That's annoying. What's the point of bothering? The trailers look identical, so I figured I'd save my $11.
*mails you some chocolate*
Hmm. In that case, I'm glad I saw The Producers onstage this weekend.
I saw it last night ... it entertained me for the 2 1/2 hours, but that's about all I could say. It was really strange though, because I had never jumped on the Producers bandwagon, so I was unfamiliar with the storyline and music (other than the most obvious stuff) ... It was very odd sitting through a musical and not knowing all the words! I don't think that's ever happened to me before.
Sorry you had such a bad time, nia.
Yeah, it was me over there defending Adam, though I don't think of it so much as defending him as providing information. I feel like they don't know much about him, and he's easily misunderstood. Anyone of good will can take the information for what it's worth, and those who just get off on dissing him can go F*CK themselves.
I'm not in a very good place emotionally right now. Can you tell?
aaaargh, silly eBay.
Seems like a lot of us still aren't Chloe.

That's exactly how I felt JL. I don't know. I thought it was ok. It got better as it went on. The beginning was incredibly slow.

I refuse to read CB. There's no point in trying to explain calculus to monkeys, is there?
I think it's a good show, but I've no desire to see it again. There was nothing about it that really 'got' me. I was just entertained.
Will Ferrel was the one sparkly thing about the film. I'm a fan now. I didn't care much about Franz when I saw the tour, but he's the funniest character in the movie and it's all thanks to Ferrel.
*hugs Chloe*
Oh but I will say that Roger Bart CRACKED me up. Just to picture him as his pharmicist role and then that, wow - quite the change in characters!

Will Ferrel was great. I agree. And the german pigeon Adolph had me laughing for a very long time.
Did you stay until the end of the credits?

For the record, I don't understand basic algebra, let along calculus...
JL, my mother could hardly believe that Carmen was George on Desperate Housewives. He's a good actor. I wouldn't know it was the same person if I didn't... know.
Heh, Adolph. I also liked that he was sent off to Argentina.
Did anyone else love the posters behind Max and Leo during the "Good luck" scene? The Sound of Music with Mary Martin, something with Gwen Verdon and The West Side Story.

I didn't! We left half way through. Afterwards, I heard about the ong and wished I'd stayed.

I left halfway through too...

Very nice, nia.
I missed the Datalounge comment, where was that?
I noticed the posters ... actually the names of the theaters caught my eye first. We did stay til the end of the credits ... the slow version of Will Ferrel's song was quite amusing, probably even more enjoyable than the 10/15 second thing at the end where they tell you to leave.
Food, hm, that sounds like a good idea ...
*hugs nia and Chloe*
Aagh, calculus. I think that my final grades for this semester will be posted tomorrow, and I know that calculus is going to torpedo my GPA. My only consolation is that I'm far from the only one to do horribly in that class (the average grade on the final exam was below 60, for crying out loud!)
In happier news, my mom just told me that we're going into Manhattan on Wednesday and getting tickets for a matinee from the TKTS booth
hooray!! I really wish I would have done that this week while had off ... I know the crowds were probably terrible but it would have been fun to try. It's just hard convincing any of my friends to go with me. The guy I dated in college actually enjoyed going to NYC so I got spoiled w/ seeing so many things in a short period of time.
argh, my parents just called me downstairs, and my mom chewed me out for not eating and not being social. I told her that I don't eat for a few hours when I first wake up, so then I end up eating "breakfast" around two, since I sleep so late recently. She says she's afraid I'm not eating enough, which is true, and demanding to know what I've eaten in the past few days, but she doesn't need to yell at me for it. She's afraid that this is what I do all the time, but usually, I'm ALWAYS hungry.
Then she says she hasn't heard me say but fifteen words in five days. I'm not sure what she wants from me? Should I just go sit in her prescence so she can know I'm around? I haven't anything to say, other than "oh, I saw ___ on tv this morning."
Later, nia.
May I join the hugging?
Going to NYC for the sole purpose of seeing shows is my new hobby. Much better than birdwatching or something.
BillboardGirl, do you know what you want to see?
Oh, Chloe, the Datalounge comment was in one of the very first posts.
I am thinking I might spend a month of this summer at my parent's beach house in NJ ... that way I can just take NJ transit in for an afternoon or evening. And if I live at the beach, I have a feeling people will want to come visit. I'm not above trading an afternoon on the beach for an evening at the theater ... :)
