I'm just feeling bad because Adam is getting attacked (as usual) over at CB. Someone who actually claims to be a fan described Cybele as ugly ("is she supposed to be a model or something?") and made fun of Adam supposedly running crying to her. I would really enjoy slapping him into oblivion at the moment.
Those are the nauseating fans who think that THEY should be married to Adam, and they love him so much that it's ok to wish that he didn't have a happy marriage and didn't love being a father to his children. "I can hate his wife and still wish I could bang him. I'm a fan!" *GAG*
I just made a really angry Rent post. I'm feeling a little bit more like myself!
Ugh. And people think *we're* mean!
Yeah, I read that too Chloe. But that post stood out, it wasn't like the whole thread was like that, plenty of people realized Adam wasn't serious.

Ew. People like that scare me. That's the stage you're at right before stalkerdum.
I still haven't seen Brokeback Mountain!!! Gar!! It's not out here yet.
I think the release goes wider on the 6th.
Well this was a guy, so not exactly in that category, but of the bitchy/thoughtless/I'm-so-superior variety for sure.
Oooo, where's the angry Rent post? It's been too boring around here, we need another Rent fight thread!
On the "Why is Rent set in '89?" or whatever thread.
Maybe it's a gay guy?
I don't know, could be a gay guy, or possiby just one of those snotty straight bully boys there.
Do snotty straight bully boys like Adam?
Good question - he did write "now I love me some Adam," so he's probably gay.
That's so queer, no matter how you slice it.
I'm going to tear someone apart on that thread. I'm finally sick of it. Hell, what do they want to be told?
Just read that thread, and wow, some of those people really need a chill pill. They're acting like Adam personally kicked their puppies or something.
Chloe, I'm thinking it was you who posted that well-thought-out defense of Adam over there. Brava.
I'm not gonna lie, this post from there cracked me up:
"That's the thing, I loved Adam's Radames. Unfortuntately I think he loved it so much he brought a lot of it to the RENT movie. I kept waiting for Roger to break into Forture Favors the Brave while he was in the desert."
If I read it, my head might explode with rage. I'm currently excersising willpower, because if I read it, I'll want to join, bitch them all out and run away, but I know that's a bad idea. Should I read it, yay or nay?
That post IS funny, Billboard.
Nah Em, it's not worth it. Most of the people have long-standing issues with Adam, so this is just an excuse to air their grievances.
ok, I'll read it. *throws preliminary virtual punch*

Heh, I was actually going to say that if you want to do it, just do it. You obviously have some interest in the thread, so you may as well just look at it. It's the internet after all.
Regarding some of the stuff that's been mentioned over the last page... I think a lot of it is mean-spirited (the wife comments) and really shows the maturity (or there lackof) of the original posters. Some of it, like the post BG mentioned, I find actually amusing. If people have a different opinion than me about a certain performer and are actually funny/respectful in expressing it, I think that's awesome. It's when people get seemingly bitter and nasty about what is essentially such a small thing in one's normal life -- a Broadway performer -- that I just don't understand.
This thread is freakin' brilliant!
- Someone asked if his wife knows he reads Datalounge. *snicker* As much as I hate Datalounge for chewing out Mr. E, that IS funny.
- I love this twisted, twisted logic:
That's actually the part that bothers me the most. Yeah, vicious, whatever. But to make it sound like we're all a bunch of raving, idiotic 12 year olds? I may be raving and idiotic, but I'm not a little kid.
Being an adult is LESS of an excuse for being an idiot. But, I guess only an idiot would clearly think it OKAY that she is "raving and idiotic." It's like "I'm an adult, so I'm excused." That is so not an excuse, but rather, it makes you look dumberrrr. Brilliant. Brilliant. BRILLIANT. Yes. And then on the following page, the same chick talks about "those BWW people," and implies that as a community, we reacted too harshly to the Rent movie, and that all Rent fans are not like "those people." Us? Harsh? In comparison to psychotic? I think not. They're all probably lightyears worse, bad as we were.
These people aren't even that mean, they're just stupid and bitchy, with SERIOUS airs of holier-than-thou superiority. No matter how many great, loving fans he has, that doesn't mean sh*t's not gonna hurt. They need to wake up.
I also simply don't understand how these idiots could cling so desperately to their beloved original cast as if for dear life like they might DIE without them, and then say things like: Mr. Pascal, I slap my palm to my forehead and roll my eyes in your general direction.
These people are the root of the problem! People like them chased him away.
I hope that one day, when they all OBVIOUSLY attain their dreams of being on Broadway, people say hurtful CRAP about them. And that they see it. And WHINE.
CB, you disgust me. I feel like I've lost brain cells. Good God, what a f*cking asylum.

Aw, Em, are you going to reply? I would, but I've gotten into one too many internet fights in the past and now generally just stay quiet.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: CB is essentially comprised of a bunch of people trying to win their own imaginary little cynicism contest, but ironically the one thing they love so dearly promotes a message completely opposite to that.
Whatever.
No, it takes forever to get the registration for a CB account to go through, and besides, talking to them would be like talking to a bunch of brick walls. I like a good debate, but this just ain't worth it.
*Applauds Em*
My advice: Don't post a response over there. They're not worthy of the time and thought you would put into it, and the ones who need to see something akin to what you would say probably wouldn't "get it" anyway.
Edit: Heh, I see you already reached that conclusion in the time it took me to type this.

Hey, nia. How was the movie?

Not at all what I needed. I hate my mother.
If you've seen the stage version, don't bother with it. It's exactly the same.
