Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Adam wearing a suit for the Chess benefit? (I have a horrible memory.) I thought he looked stunning there.
Mandi, the number is definitely interesting. I just saw Raúl's rendition of it over the weekend, so while I've heard that Adam doesn't take it that far, I was just wondering how far he does take it

Ooooh, Cabaret talk. I'm such a Cabaret fangirl. It was the first Broadway musical I really and absolutely loved.
I...NEED to get outta the house.

Hi! Hope everyone had a happy holiday! I've been in sunny Florida for about a week. And of course, I come home to icky rainy weather. Gosh, I love New York! I can't wait to get Anthony's book :)
I saw the Cabaret movie for the first time when I was 8, but I definitely prefer the stageshow.
Thanks for posting that! I'm so excited to read Anthony's book.
I usually describe Adam's take on the number as... kind of silly. He seemed like all of the sex just made him giddy. He'd come out from behind the curtain with this exasperated look on his face, cigarette hanging just barely between his lips, as if to say "heee, I just got LAID!"
The other person I saw live was Jon Secada, but I blocked out anything he remotely sexual that he did.
Raul's... I saw. ahem. Anyway, Raul was a lot more defiant and in-your-face about it. His gestures naughtier, and his expressions more sinister, he took it with a tone as if to say "yes, this is what we're doing. Sin? Perhaps. Dirty? Sure. But we're going to do it in front of you, and you're going to watch."
Adam tapped a little bit into that, but Raul just took the blatant dirtiness of the sexuality a little farther. A little more risque, a little more x-rated, and pretty daring.
*panting*
*catching breath*
Ok, I just had to read like 15 pages. You people talk too much.
In a nutshell: Little Mermaid/Center Stage? LOVE THEM! Also, Cutting Edge (which is getting a sequel in Feb.) Blue shirt from any scene or photo shoot anytime? LOVE THEM! Oh and my screen name is (my initials)at(my college). I picked it back when the whole email address thing was catching on in the world and the word "at" started being used a million times more than before, but went with the word instead of the symbol.
Whew.
Yes, they should all go to the critics choice awards. And present things to themselves. And stand there on stage as decoration just for us. :)
Oh, I loved Raúl's for that reason. It just seemed to be more realistic for a place like the Kit Kat Club, as opposed to cleaning it up to fit in on Broadway. My jaw dropped a few times, but it's supposed to be risque, so it worked for me.
Another Cabaret question- how was his pineapple dance? I seriously can't imagine Adam doing that with a straight face.
M3L - Is that Will Chase?
I am sorry I missed the Caberet years ... I got frustrated with none of my friends ever wanting to go to NY and I felt like I was just tempting myself with things I wouldn't get to enjoy. Now i figure forget them, I'll do and go what and where I want! I've heard it and seen some pics of the black hair though. :)
He's very pretty.
Now I want to see Rent again.
Two Ladies live was interesting when I was 12. =/
And yeah, how was Adam with the pineapple dance?
skittles, he smiled right through it. Not like he was about to laugh at how ridiculous he was, or anything, but he kept sort of fixated on the dancing couple, and was smiling at them... about them, I guess. Like "aw, isn't that nice..."
And thus began my love for the pineapple.
As far as comparing the two in terms of being risque, though, Adam did the crotch-grabbing and the self-touching and the licking and the fondling fondling of both men and women with absolutely no qualms whatsoever. I remember Jon Secada just sort of gave "Bobby and Victor" two-finger pinches, and honestly, I expected Adam to take the wimpy route with that one. But he went straight for it. He was dirty-minded with jaw-dropping excellence.
I wish the pole dance had been preserved.
JLS, I used to be the same way, where I didn't want to go see something by myself. But I got sick of going out of my way begging someone to come with me only to have them complain the whole time. Now I go see shows by myself frequently and have a much better time.
me too (my friends pic w/ him), i think im going on the 24th
I think Adam looks amazing with black hair
i wish i could go by myself sometimes to see shows..but i'm too young and not allowed :-/

I miss the black hair like mad.
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Adam wearing a suit for the Chess benefit? (I have a horrible memory.) I thought he looked stunning there."
Yeah, he was wearing a black suit with matching shirt, and he looked GOOD. In the pics I've seen from that, the jacket was open, which I've decided is the key to Adam looking good in a suit. For example, in the pics from the Rent movie premiere, he looks kinda dorky on the red carpet when his suit jacket is all buttoned. The pics from the afterparty once he's unbuttoned it? Dayum.
Fantabulous, thanks for the scan. That's excellent publicity for Anthony's book.
LBH, I know the feeling. I was on a cruise for a week and now I'm just sitting around my house feeling blah.
JLSatUD, I know what you mean. If I go to bed early or wake up late, I have so much to catch up on here. Good thing I have a naturally f**ked-up sleeping schedule to begin with Even so, I don't know how I managed to stay caught up last week.
I'm definitely going to focus on seeing more shows by myself. I'm seeing two with my mom over winter break (Rent on the 14th and whatever we can get at the TKTS booth tomorrow), but I don't always want to feel like I have to find something that she'll like since our tastes don't always overlap. Since I go to school in the city anyway, it's not like I don't have the opportunity, and I've gone to concerts by myself before and had a great time, so I don't know what's been stopping me from doing the same with Broadway shows.
