I just took a look at that thread, and I sort of got the feeling that the person who started it was deliberately playing dumb to stir s**t up. There was just something about her posts that just didn't ring true, if that makes any sense.
Ahh, glad to see that I'm not the only one who can't stand the people who tYPe LyKe dIS. I secretly wish some sort of magical anvil would fall from the sky and land on their fingers.
That was my one fear about being new was being misinterpreted as a crazy fangirl, seeing as I joined after the recent fangirl explosion. I know I talk alot, I'm just trying to get used to the pace of speaking on the thread. I think that it helped that I had been lurking for a bit, because now I know how you all talk and what is acceptable, and what's not.
I don't understand at all, it took a bit of time to keep alternating the shifts, too time consuming for me even if I wanted to do it.
I'm such a stickler for making my typing good on here. On AIM and PM I'm much lazier, but what you see on the boards is what you get -- I've got to look intelligible.
I certainly try more on here than aim and PMs to edit and such, but I should do a better job. I don't change typos and I think often kinda throw in an "i" instead of "I" and just shrug it off. I should take more pride in what can be viewed by everyone.

I know exactly how you feel. It took me a good week or so of lurking to feel comfortable enough to make my first post here, and I was so scared of coming across as a stupid newbie.
I check my spelling and grammar even on AIM. My friends (and my mom) mock me for it, but I can't help it.
BBG, I've been lurking since October, and was just too nervous to post. But I think I've been good, I haven't squealed my love or asked if Anthony actually posts here ... yet.
I'm usually a lazy typer that leaves out capitals, but I keep it up for this thread because everyone else seems to.
I have absolutely no sense for grammar. (You guys know how to spell grammar! *rejoices*) So, I'm taking a class called "Grammar Review" this semester... I definitely need it.

Isn't it weird that there's been an influx of young Anthony fangirls instead of Adam fangirls? Maybe it's because they heard Anthony posts/used to post on this site. Objectively, based on looks alone (which I'm assuming most young "fangirls" prize the most highly), one would think that Adam's type of look is a lot more stereotypically "hot" than Anthony's look. I can see why both of them would be considered attractive, but they have very different... personas? apperances? I'd assume that Adam has much more of a typical appeal.
Maybe I'm making completely wrong assumptions. ::shrug::
On another note, I was also originally worried that I'd be viewed as a crazy teen, but I ultimately figured **** it and just decided to post. I think Adam's attractive, I don't think I overly fawn over him, and people can think what they want.
You'll be happy to know that most of the Adam fans ventured to IMDb, and found out that Anthony posts on here... there. Did that make any sense?
Probably because Anthony is "adorkable" while Adam is "rock star sexy" so they attract very different groups of fans based on their appearances.
well the average response i get from my friends regarding anthony is "eww he's old and albino" so it suprises me that there are so many teen fans of his on here (im 15, but have some wierd taste in guys).
i would have expected more adam fangirls to post
Interesting point, siamese. I think a lot of it has to do with the really young fangirlish types being more interested in "cute" than "hot", and I'm sure the matter of Anthony posting here is also a pretty big factor.
Heh, I'm getting the feeling that all of the sane newbies feared being mistaken for the crazies.
I like to think of IMDB as the padded cell for the truly insane teenybopper fangirls.
Yeah, what is it with the main board tonight? Is it a full moon or something? I've stopped looking because it makes my head hurt.
I definitely expected an influx of Adam fangirls.
The main board has been pretty wacky all day. It seems like a lot of people fell out of the stupid tree and hit quite a few branches on the way down.

Yeah, that's why I'd expect there to be more of the young Adam fangirls, actually. Maybe I'm getting my assumptions all mixed up and the younger set goes for the cute and dorky (I say that with total affection) Anthony. I was just surprised because I've talked to a few younger Rent fans and they all said that "Roger was hot," but never anything about Anthony.
Why can't I find the "Anthony is hot" thread y'all were referencing a couple minutes ago? Was it already deleted?
You're missing it because it's titled: Who's your favourite RENT-ster?????

Rachael (or gertrudejessalynn, I don't know what you prefer to be addressed as on here), thanks!
Am I the only one who just laughs really hard at threads like those? I don't know what else to do at a sentence like "isn't he just hot as Mark Cohen [haha, because we somehow needed a last name to clarify who she was talking about], especially with his glasses?"
You can call me whatever you want, heh. I thought that thread was damn amusing... some of the other threads might beat it out for the stupidest thread of the night, however. (How sad is that??) Haha!

Everyone apparently went to bed as soon as I got on.
On another note, I'm not sure how many of you use LiveJournal, but the people there are really vicious (heh, I sound like Adam). I'm regretting ever joining any of those Rent communities in the first place.

I'm still here!
The Rent LJ communities seem to be mostly icons, icons, and more icons, with the occasional newbie asking silly question/people jumping on all newbies and other really over-the-top drama (I remember one post where some girl posted a pic she took in the theater after the show was over and then a little clique of people started yelling about how what she did was illegal. That scared me away from ever wanting to post there).
I did join the Adam LJ community, even though I don't post, simply because to access most of the good stuff you have to be a member of the community.
I think I'm in love with the Adam LJ community. I joined yesterday and I now have the rent movie on my computer [shh don't tell anyone...lol] this rent promontional special with OBC clips, and someone sent me all the New York Theatre Workshop songs [and most of them are REALLY bad], and some other videos. I'm trying to get Chess to work, but I spent about 5 hours downloading it yesterday only for it to tell me its corrupted so im hoping it will work now when its done.
I'm scared of LJ.
