Ok, what is Facebook, and why do the highschools care if you have one? And Myspace is by MSN, the schools have no control over it, and why should they?
And while we're at it, I tried to figure it out last night but couldn't. What does SRO mean?

SRO=Standing Room Only (assuming its the same SRO we're talking about).
Talking about Facebook and Myspace, my school sent out a university wide email pretty much saying beware. It was a little odd...
My school newspaper had a "Myspace Warning". Haha :)
Snowbird,

I guess the reason schools are uncomfortable about it is that students sometimes put up too much personal information on their pages. However, with Facebook you do have control over who can view your profile, so I think they're making too big a deal over it.

Exactly. But as long as you aren't stupid about what information you put up, I don't really see the issue. Then again, maybe people don't know where to draw the line as far as sharing personal info

sometimes people in my school go on myspace..they found a way to hack in through the schools security firewall.
I have returned! Though, I'm kinda sleepy, so who knows how long I'll be on. :p
My friend decided to take a computer class so she could just go on myspace the whole time, but I dont think that worked out.
and Mandi, yea Slipknot has got to be the worst.
Got it, we don't have that here. It seems interesting, but I can see how it would be a problem too.
im sleepy too..i just had one of the worst nights ever.. so i just kinda wanna forget about it.
I don't understand how a person can spend hours on myspace. I can understand being on here, or LJ, or something...but what the hell can you do on myspace? Leave comments? Isn't e-mail or AIM faster than that?

I've heard of people stalking others on Facebook just for fun. I don't think I'll use it when I'm in college.
Hi, all.
I just don't get the whole MySpace thing.

What I DO like about myspace is all the music. Granted, the bigger myspace has gotten, the harder it is to find quality stuff. But there is quite a bit of talent out there that I might not have otherwise found.

Myspace is preety funny, especially when people stalk you for what...a comment on one of their pictures?
It is, nia, but it's a bit more secure because you need a legit, verifiable college email address, and it's more than just a way to kill time on the net -- you can get back in touch with people you haven't talked to in ages and things.
I like when random BWW people IM me and ask me how old I am. o.O

I figure that if I haven't talked to them in ages, I'm not interested enough to start now...
Mandi, that's why I don't include my AIM in my profile.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm addicted to Facebook. It's basically how I keep in touch with my high school friends and keep track of important info about my new friends. It's also useful for stuff like finding the phone number of that person you're working on a group project with when your cell phone is dead and you can't remember the number on your own, discovering that the cute guy who sits next to you in Accounting is dating the cute guy who sits next to you in Calculus, and making or joining groups with witty titles.
Myspace, on the other hand, I totally don't get. It's just ... there. And most of the pages I've seen seem to be about being as trashy as possible.
Well guys I think I'm going to go to bed. I'll talk to you tomorrow or something.
Gnite, Mandi!
Good night, Mandi!
