Of course. Not that I probably wouldn't muppet this movie until the proverbial cows come home anyway - I may as well just rent out a permanent seat in the theatre.

I hope so. And on a selfish note, I think the thing I want most for it is for the fans to love it, whether or not it's a financial hit. I think I care more about HOW the movie is than how much money it rakes in, since the two don't always go hand-in-hand. To see it make tons of money, unprecedented amounts, even... I guess I'd see it as an added bonus.

I feel the same way, though when I wrote "hit," I was thinking more in terms of becoming a phenomenon that runs a long time and that both the press and ordinary people take a lot of notice of. Of course, the financial part goes along with that.

EW seems quite obsessed with it. I wonder if they'll continue to be once it's actually out to be seen.

Probably, since it's now their "baby" to a certain extent. What I'm imagining is that at some point there'll be an article along the lines of "Who is Adam Pascal and why is he driving women crazy?" If, and it's a big if, he manages to carry his stage presence over into the film, of course.

Oh, God. I can see that, too. Though, with the hair, will people go so crazy? Consensus seems to show that people dislike it at first!

That'll be an article of which I own multiple copies, should the day come.

Is that the general reaction, or just fans who are used to his short hair? And this is all a long shot... kind of like his whole career has been.

Have you ever looked at the Billy Elliot thread on the main board? It's cute because it's mostly Brits who tend to call the boys playing Billy "lads" and have a whole set of their own misspellings and teen talk. A lot of them have now seen the show umpteen times. I think it's becoming the RENT of its day.

I read the beginning of it, but I had no idea what they were talking about. Adam is kewl too I hope it comes here; I'd love to see what all the hype's about! "Lads." I love that word.

I think people just look at his hair and are just like "hm. What's up with THAT guy?" I'll have to put a picture up in my room and get some reactions. Adam is kewl too

Hm, maybe my generation is just more accepting of long hair on guys. It never bothered me except when it was in that sort of awkward halfway stage.

I'd be very surprised if BE didn't make it here, given its success so far. Elton even told someone in the press that it was definitely coming to Broadway, maybe in 2007. Makes the RENT movie seem very close, doesn't it? And I'm *very* curious as to how Lestat will turn out. I wish the director and book writer had better track records, but Anne Rice seems quite enthusiastic about the results so far.

It really isn't all that far. We passed the 90 day mark already! Crazier is that 2007 will be here before we know it, too. I'm so excited for Lestat. They got a great cast, too.

Casting is certainly more than half the battle. I don't know much about them, but they sure *look* good!

Well, it's been great being able to relax a little online today, but I have a ton of stuff to do before I have to go out of town for a few days. Bye for now!

Hugh and Carolee can REALLY sing, too. I'm not sure about the third one that was in all of the press releases, but those two = Adam is kewl too

*waves* I have a huge pile of clothes on my floor that need to be put away. heh.

Lestat the novel bored me.

It'll be weird to see the Rent people become stars. For some reason, I feel like Adam's going to fade away, but that Anthony will become 'popular'.

I think that if they do a lot of TV appearances, people will very quickly tap into Anthony's deserved image as 'the nice one.' It's so easy to tell how willing he is to reach out, and everything. I think people will really embrace him for that.

Anthony's also a bit less... dorky? Cooler and collected, I suppose. I say this with all the love in the world to Adam, but... well, actually, I don't know what I'm saying. My brain is fried.

I do agree, though, Emcee. Idina will definetly become popular and Taye's career will probably get a lift.

I'll say it. Lovingly, of course, but the man interviews like a jerk. The unassuming talk-show watcher is NOT going to think that's cute.

Anthony's the type you'd bring home to meet your mom.

And do you say this with primary knowledge, Emcee?

I wasn't trying to get at the asshole aspect (though I agree), but it's more the fact that he doesn't seem... Hm. Built to be famous. I don't know. He's kinda dorky, really. In a good way, but he doesn't seem to have that famousy... thing. Image. Mystery. Whatever.

I give up.

About bringing him home to meet your mom? Nah, my mom hates everybody.

Adam is a bit of a goofball, though. He has the confidence, but the brutal honesty doesn't go with that mysterious quality that a lot of 'big stars' have, of not letting you know everything that runs through their heads.

I just googled 'adam raul' for no real reason, and look what I found:

in a tiny clip - FABULOUS, though!) This Chess concert had something for ...

Our very own Allie is number five on a google search result. I wonder if she'll give me her autograph. Or her toenails.

Yeah, Nia, I'm sure Allie's toenails could fetch a very high price on eBay. And you didn't like Lestat? For shame!
