Listen to this one:
Ladies and Gentlemen
A chic 1930’s cabaret. Couples meet to the sound of a cappella voices singing in French of love, laughter, tears and upset. But the couples are played by 7 year children! Dressed to the nines in period costume, 26 children workshopped for three years to accomplish this visually stunning and amazingly talented short film. French classics by the likes of Luc Plamondom and Edith Piaf are lip-synced with stunning precision. A must-see!

Sounds interesting, Allie! Although I don't like overly precocious children. What else is playing that you want to see?

The Corpse Bride... Beowulf and Grendel (starring Gerard Butler)... Fag Hags: Women Who Love Gay Men ... They're doing an outside night-time viewing of the Sound of Music on Friday that I might go to!
awww, The Sound of Music outdoors! That's cute.

It starts at dusk, and the notice says to bring a blanket to sit on. Hopefully I can scrounge up some friends and snacks to take along, too! I think it'll be FUUUN!

Theatre and food! Nice combination.
I'm not on a diet, but I try to eat lots of fruits and vegetables and such things.

I tend to eat better at school than I do at home. My siblings are both picky eaters, so a lot of things don't get bought, because they won't eat them!
I just bought some apples tonight, because I feel like I haven't eaten a piece of fruit in AGES!

I've found that now I've become a more fruit and veggies girl, I can't stomach too much cheese and starch (which I used to live on). Balance is yummy. Apples rock hard.
I need to eat less this year - I just ate when I got bored last year, and that was bad.
*gets a peach*

Really? I think I may try that... fruits and veggies are always yummy!
It's too bad that they're so much more expensive than, say, bread and pasta. It's so much easier to just buy a box of spaghetti!

Or mac and cheese. I love it way, way too much. I hear you, though. Salads are tasty and healthy, but they take too long to fix.
Emcee, didn't you balance it out by not eating much this summer? Not that that's GOOD, but...
I didn't do it intentionally, so I guess it's not too bad. I just always eat less in the summer. *shrug*

See, I'm the opposite, Emcee. I eat more, because I get bored more quickly. But I do like to have a snack while I'm writing a paper... but I usually go for popcorn. That's not too bad for you, right?

It's not really too terrible for you, no.
What sort of happened this summer was that I only ate what I took to work with me, because I didn't want to pay to buy snacks in one of Manhattan's biggest tourist traps. So, if I only brought a salad and fruit, that's what I ate. During the school year, there's food everywhere.

Since I'm buying my own groceries this year, I can only buy what I want. I would always ask my mom not to buy chips, because I canNOT resist them. She would just tell me not to eat them! Not so helpful. I plan on stocking up on on healthy stuff! Mmmm, you can never have too many cans of chickpeas!
Chickpeas --> Hummus = GOOD.

I don't believe I've ever eaten chickpeas... or seen them.
*sighs* Age battle over on the Older Men thread.
Definitely not going there.
... or so I say. Now that you mention it, I guess I'm curious to at least read.

Get thee to a can of them, Nia! I love 'em! Hummus is one of my most favourite things EVER! Do you make your own, Emcee, or buy it? I usually make it, but I had this really awesome spicy hummus at a party a couple of weeks ago that I'm in search of!

It's a dip. It's basically made from chickpeas, but there are all kinds of flavors - red pepper, garlic, sundried tomato, vegetable. It's GOOD stuff. It's Middle Eastern, maybe?
I usually buy it, Allie. I'm lazy.

An Eastern Mediterranean dip made from chickpeas, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, and maybe some spices... I use a different recipe every time I make it!

*nods* I'll put it on the grocery list and see what the mother does. She hates abnormal things, like wearing jeans in july.
Hummus+Pita+Tabouli=AMAZING meal. You MUST try it, Nia.
I have recently come to love babaganouj, as well.
