Tarzan on stage just strikes me as strange.
A bit ago, there was something that said they wanted to blow out the mezzanine of one of the theatres to heighten the realistic nature of the flying. That was a no-go... heh.

Perhaps you should add in the other part of my post, too? I mean, if there's any chance at all that Adam has seen or will see this site, he should be steered away from Tarzan at all costs.
Snaps, I think it would end up being corny.
Very, Very corny.
I would love to point Mr. Pascal in a different direction as well.
not me. I think tarzan is gonna be hilarious. but then anything that has "You'll Be In My Heart" in the score deserves to be taken seriously ... at least for two minutes...... Updated On: 5/12/05 at 05:46 PM

*fashions neon sign from duct tape and twine* Don't give me that look, it's all I have. And yes, it works. I'm magical on Thursdays.

ANYTHING THAT INVOLVED A BELOINCLOTHED APEMAN SHOULD NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF STAGE.
I would have to argue about Adam doing Tarzan.. Let's think about this.. Adam in nothing but a loin cloth.... That in itself would be worth seeing.. Forget the book or the music, just think loin cloth..
Well corny can be hilarious, but I am already not a big fan of Raul in Chitty (sorry Em) I don't see this working well.
And there is Nia with a comment I agree with 100% once again!
And it's Thursday too, nia.
Whatever. I mean, if he's playing this part, he's not going to be part of the action, corny as it might be. I think given the creative team, it has a potential to be beautiful, if they do some unconventional things with it, and don't give what we expect. Think about what's been done with The Lion King; it's gorgeous.
Who am I kidding? I just want him back on stage.
Adam's. Not. Wearing. A. Loincloth.

*dies of laughter* but what if it was adam as the beloinclothed ape-man???
since adam is too embarrassed to wear a loincloth... I nominate tony...

I think that flying around in a loincloth in front of a few thousand people would rank as one of the most traumatizing experiences of my life.
awww. You know, lots of people always talk about the Tony/Adam similarities.
The part rather sounds like he'd just stand there and sing. It's not even a matter of him being part of the corniness of the story like Raúl is in Chitty. He'll hardly have to act, I guess...

haha well.......ok yeah i agree.
I don't know there is just something that seems weird about a Tarzan Disney musical, The Lion King at least has a more universal story. I know Tarzan is classic, but it seems a little, played out for today?
I'm all for frolicing in loin cloths though, that is fun to do.

If that's Tony in your avatar, CATS, then he reminds me of Cary Shields. Hee.

Oh loin cloth...
I'm actually kind of curious to see how Tarzan turns out. I think it might work better as a ballet-type show, sort of like Movin' Out. 'Cause then the choreographer could use the choreography to distinguish between the animals and the humans (and the Tarzan), so the show wouldn't need to have costuming similar to The Lion King. Just the dancer-minded one's two cents.
I would really loooove to see Adam in The Wall. Much better role for him than Tarzan, plus it seems more like his kind of thing.
That's what I mean. I don't think they're stupid enough to make it so straightforward; then it WOULD look like something you'd find in Disney World.
Ok, not that I actually think it would happen. And yes I was objectifying Adam in a purely sexual fashion.. You have to admit the idea is a bit entertaining.. Granted not for the stage, but in general.. Adam in a loin cloth.. Insert sailing hands here..
Jungle men don't sail.
I've said it before ... loincloths are due for a comeback...
They would have to become "soaring" hands instead.. You know soaring around on all those vines..
I'm still thrown off by Adam in your avatar Emcee, I had gotten very used to Raul.
I will be skeptical until I see it, then if I love it I will be even happier.
Gotta rotate, penguin! (Especially since I won the obsession award!)
