Yeah, your black and blue hair is AWESOME, cam. XD But I'd look like Morticia Adams with black hair. My skin is way too pale for that...
Actually Lari it looks great with pale skin.. I'm so pale I'm almost transparent.. the joys of Irish skin minus the freckles (which I have very few of).. My friend was just laughing at me because I had to buy the lightest face powder MAC makes.. Royal blue tips looks good with blonde though too..
Out of Tune, most decent salons should be able to the cut no problem.. The color would be more interesting to achieve.. I'm a license cosmotologist as is my mother so pretty much for all my hair needs I'm covered.. Makes my life simple.. I would look around are alternative style salons.. check around worse care scenario you have to have a consultation in advance and they have to make a special purchase to get what you need color wise.
As for auditions and such I look at it this way.. it displays my personality which is important. Thats part of the whole audition process you have to stand out, make and impression, and it's only hair color, it's not hard to color it back to something more natural.. You just have to be willing to make the sacrifices time and money wise. and make sure you convey that to whom ever you are audtioning for either verbally or on your audition information.
Also I forgot to mention that I work for a major computer company and have to deal with people face to face on a daily basis.. not a single person has had a problem with it.. this includes my direct manager who is a complete Ass all the way up the food chain to the really high ups.. They all do a double take stare for a minute smile and say it's very "you".. It works.. I say live life..
Ha! Maybe. But I don't know if it would REALLY work. I tend to look "Dead" with dark colors. XD Except purple. I looked good in purple... Hm.
Anyway, I'm off to the salon. I'll be back in an hour or two.
Lari if you contrast the black with something bright you'll be fine.. besides I think some of the most gorgeous people have pale skin and dark hair..

I was speaking to someone else about my hair fiasco and how I wanted blue streaks in it and he told me that for auditions they prefer the "nautral" you. But my hair color (black) isn't me...I need a little 'zing' to it to actually make it me. I remember a quote from Will & Grace everytime I think about dying my hair--Grace-"I already have wierd hair! give me a gay friend and I might as well be a theatre major!" haha I think that's funny b/c I am a theatre major. I have the gay friend(s), I just need the "wierd" hair. Whenever I tell people my idea they always say "yeah, that would be so you"
I wish my mom could do my hair all cool-like! your life must be 100 times easier!
Wow, brave people. I could never dye my hair black...or blue for that matter. I actually like the color my hair is now, it's dyed, but it looks natural.
well I also have friends that can do it.. usually I will tell someone how to do it.. it's a schedule issue with my mother.. It's not hard if you know what you are doing.. Not that I advise you trying this at home because it has the potential for disaster...
I wouldn't suggest changing your hair right before and audition, but dont let it stop you either.. Like I said it's easy to change it back, you may also want to come with a picture of you with your natural hair color *or more natural color* whatever the case may be.. But like I said all of the auditon stuff I have done being on both sides of the table I can tell you its important to make an impression.. Albeit you dont want to make a bad impression but you want them to remember you. You have to realize that by the end of the audition process they have seen hundreds of people and everyone starts to blur together..

I'm trying to decide what color to dye my hair also. I'm thinking of a purple-ish red. I did that a while back and it looked nice. For now, I'm stuck with bleh hair.
Hey, Em, I too am curious about the spork incedent. I've seen it spoken of but was always a little hesitant to ask
I will allow Em to tell the story about the Spork Adventure.. she'll probably pm everyone with it.. It's quite funny..
what is your natural color Hugs?

It's a sort of espresso color. I had red highlights put in back in December but they sort of morphed into a bronze...
My hair's dark enough to look almost black. I've always wanted to highlight it a bit: I get some natural dark reddish coloring from the sun in the summer, but it fades so quickly.
Luv, I'll PM you, as well.
Oh, funny thing. I was out for lunch, and I ran into Alix, on her way to drop something off for Mr. Esparza at the Hilton. I can't wait to see if he says something funny on hers, too.
Oh my gosh, I just saw that Tango picture (I know I know, I'm late on it, but I haven't been around).... all I can say is: HOT!!!!!! I'm really looking forward to the tango scene.
Tangoooooo.
I just noticed the subject heading. (NIA.)
AND I just found my Lennon Playbill in my bag. hee. Julia. Signed it.
Lol, I just noticed the subject too, though I can't claim to know what it means. Did you see Lennon with your mom, or earlier?

I think I might adore the subject.
Atrias-- there's a book out (I can't remember the title, but it has something to do with Tango) about gay penguins who raise a baby penguin named Tango.
I saw Lennon with my mom, last night. I forgot that I kept the playbill in my bag.
Juliaaaaa. *sits on fence*
The book's called And Tango Makes Three. I must own it. It's about Roy and Silo, the gay penguins at the CP Zoo.
I just found the thread about it, and this is a mini-synopsis about it:
It's the story of two male penguins in New York's Central Park Zoo named Roy and Silo. They have been living as a couple since about 1998.
They did everything as a couple - walked together, sang to each other, bowed to each other and swam together. They soon realized they didn't have something other penguin couples had though, a baby.
The zookeeper had an idea and put an egg that needed to be cared for in their nest. The egg hatched, and Tango makes three!
It's the cutest thing ever.
It does sound amazingly cute!!! I think I might have to get it.
Awwwww!!! how cute!!
WOW.
I need this book, it sounds completely adorable. But speaking of gay...
My usual hairdresser wasn't in today--family emergency. So I got this guy named Russel, instead. Now, when I took a look at him, I was like "AWwwwwe, he's cute, in a Hunter Foster sort of way!" So that made me happy as it was.
Then he opened his mouth. XD
He was such a stereotype. Adorable guy, did a GREAT job with my hair, and he was reeeaaally gentle. But man, every other word out of his mouth was "amazing" or "fabulous." And he had a really funny little chortle/giggle that amused me. Very friendly, though; we had a nice conversation going on.
Just felt like sharing. AWwwe, Hunter Foster lookalike!
haha, I work with the greatest guy, even though every other word out of his mouth is "faaaaabulous."

*pushes Emcee over the fence* You'll love it there. You can have gay penguin pets. And yes, I adore those two.
Bumping the love up because it's a relatively safe place (in terms of avoiding flames) to discuss things like Wax Lion. Thoughts?
