lol, trapezoid.
Imagine my suprise today when talking to my grandmother about members of my family, that I find out my Grandfather (my dad's dad), whom I didn't know, had an uncle named Pascal, as his first name. That's it. Adam and I are meant to be! Well in my mind anyway. I was like "Really!" all excited. Grandma looked at me kind of weird. I didn't bother to explain.
ahhh! That's so much more fun than a triangle!
gah! is anyone still on here? i need some quick help!
It's okay - all is fixed.
She needed someone to listen to something... her speakers weren't working or something?
Only a little over two weeks until Adam again!
oh, ok! I didn't see the time on her post until now.
You're so lucky, Emcee! I'll be expecting a full review.
Enjoy .
It's a link to a Rent movie thread on CB - there's quite a bit of 'why oh why did they cast the OBC for the movie' laments, but the cartoon is cute; thought you guys might at least enjoy that.

I saw that and cracked up. I would take it for my avatar, but it belongs to the person who posted it. I can just see the movie now, Roger will have a lightning scar on his forhead and be stealing Mark's glasses...
How does everyone feel about Adam possibly doing it, by the way?
I posted on the ap.org boards that I wasn't a fan of the "idea," meaning the RENT movie in general, but someone was confused as to what I meant, so I posted this:
Okay, here's the short version of my thoughts on this all...
I'm not a fan of the movie in general. I don't think that the essence of what RENT is will translate well to film unless it's handled VERY carefully, and I don't think that Chris Columbus is the right person to be handling such precious cargo. I think my biggest issue with the movie is that I'm not sure how much I feel anyone has the right to do what they're doing with Jonathan's work when he's not around to have input. A LOT of changes are being made, most notably with the music.
As for the casting - I'm torn. Since the movie is happening whether I like it or not, yes, I think it would be lovely for fans to see the OBC up there. Do I think it's the best thing for the film? No. They're all AT LEAST in their mid-30's, and I'm not sure they can believably play early 20's. I also believe that RENT should still now be about what it was when it was fresh - it should be about fresh, new talent. I'd love to see a bunch of young unknowns get into these roles for the movie.
That's basically what I meant. Oh well. Come what may....
I suppose that just about covers it. And I know I'm being selfish in saying that I'd hate for him to become a big movie star and become totally inaccessible. That's what I love about theatre actors... *sigh*
That's not a valid point, but I figured I'd add it.
Hey. Elaborate Lives just came on iTunes. *sob*

I agree with that... I personally want to see OBCers because I am so attached to them, but it's not the best thing for the movie. And I wouldn't have a problem if Adam got famous. I think if he did this movie, he could use it to promote his CD and get noticed for his music, which is what he's always wanted.
Yup. I said my comment was stupid - I know you're right, I just continue to be stupid.

It's ok, I'm that way about a lot of things- I know how I feel is ridiculous and illogical, but I can't help it.
But do you think he would actually take the movie role?
Anybody's guess. I suppose it's dependent on if the rest of them do it.

I think that if Daphne did it (and we know she won't) he would, if Anthony takes it, maybe... I can't see him going back to it alone. I mean, he wasn't he sworn off Rent by the time his original run had finished and then got talked into doing London? (I think that's what happened... I may be confused, though) People's minds change.
Meh. Not sure how London happened... *shrug*
I guess we can just... wait.

True.
Did anyone else notice that Mimi is missing an arm in that cartoon on CB?
*looks again*
Oh boy.

Did you see that someone's little bird also said that the five OBCers were cast?
I'm nervous about this. I really am, and I know it's just a movie but it's almost like heart surgery- one wrong move and the patient's dead. Careful where you cut...
I saw it. I also saw another little birdie say that Adam would hear today, probably.
And I feel the same way.

I'm sure b-way will post.
The other little birdie on CB may be right... I would guess so.
Anyway, I will be wondering all night what is going on... I have a feeling that I'll be missing something big. (I'm working on my school's play, won't be around at night for the next few days)
The only way that the OBCs would work in the movie (some of the older ones who can't play early 20s) would be as smaller roles such as the bag lady, Gordon, Paul, Mark's Mom, etc.
Though it would be lovely to see them play their originaly roles, there's a 1% chance that they'd all do it.
