Your teacher is doing you a favor, really. Not being able to write with good grammar and spelling is a handicap. Life is just a little easier when you don't have to overcome the bad impression it can make.

Just to add a little... my younger brother is a pretty smart kid, but no one every *seriously* taught him to use and apply basic grammatical conventions. Now he's 16 and a sophomore in high school with the writing ability of... well, something much lower than that, and it's putting a lot of roadblocks in his way. Your teacher is definitely doing you a favor. Rock it, Adam! (whooo hoo!!!!)

Especially now that the SATs require you to write an essay. And college applications. And most classes in college. And trust me, if you think your teacher is bad, wait until you're dealing with a professor with a PhD in English.

aaaaaaaaaah the SAT. But really, though, that's just going to replace the SAT II: Writing exam which most colleges were starting to require anyway.

HALP GUYS!!!

1) I still can't find my Aida CR and I'm plucking out my hair strand by strand as punishment.

2) Does anyone remember the link of the OBC Rent cast singing covers of a bunch of songs? I'm trying to find the U2 one. (I'm on a U2 kick lately.)

Hi everyone. Sorry about your Aida, Tiff. Could you have lent it to anyone?

About that U2 cover... I have it too but am wondering if it's really the Rent OBC. I read somewhere that it's actually the Rent cast on Broadway at the time it was recorded, after the OBC was gone for a while.

I guess I never knew for sure, but mine sounds like you can hear Adam, Daphne and Idina pretty clearly. But, I guess it may not be. *shrug*
We can ask Anthony...

That's a good idea - it's been quite a while since he's posted, I wonder what's going on. I'm guessing either very little, so there's nothing much for him to write about (but it seems like he'd come back and answer questions anyway), or a whole lot but it's stuff he's not sure he should talk about.

(I really love to speculate about things, obviously.)

I'll post it, I'll just have to do it in a way that doesn't suggest the possession of the recording, because that's illegal. Rock it, Adam! (whooo hoo!!!!)

Whoops! Well it's a good thing you're the one posting about it.

Oh, and maybe it's just that his computer is down.

I hope everyone up here in blizzard land is safely cuddled up somewhere warm.

Cuddled up warm for now, but I may have to head out for a bit in an hour or so. It's not terrible here yet. I'm taking care of my new fish, though. Rock it, Adam! (whooo hoo!!!!)

Yeah, my roommate and I bought pet fish. Amasis, if you read this, see? PET fish. (She thought I was going to buy dead ones.)

I just almost had a heart attack from that RENT thread on the main board.

Hi jen. I just assumed people were making up their own versions of the continuation of the story - mini fanfics - but I can see why you were upset.

Have you named your fish, Emcee?

That's cute - goldfish, I assume?

Well there's a dearth of Adam topics at the moment, so I thought I'd mention how much I like the lyrics to Wonderchild. Not so much to read on the page, but for how well they fit into the song. I especially like the part that goes: "If you're screaming but the sonar/ Doesn't hear you 'cause you're so far/ Under radar, that you don't show/ Up on anybody's video"

They're tropical fresh water fish... so... well, hopefully we don't screw up and make them die in like two days. One's kind of blue and the other is kind of pink. I tried to take a picture, but it came out really strangely.

Gah. I love Wonderchild. I love how angry and intense Adam is when he sings it.

Good luck with them, Emcee. The lobby of my vet's office has a big tank of what look like tropical fish to me - absolutely gorgeous. By the way, I have three cats.

I like The Ringing in My Ear a lot too - practically all of them a whole lot, really. He wrote that Wonderchild was about a kid in trouble, and since he says "you are the queen," I'm assuming it's a girl. I picture a 13 or 14 year old girl who's going through a whole rebellion and alienation phase.
