am I that transperant??
and what gave you the first clue?
Yay-- I'm so glad you liked it Allie!!!
I dunno, something about your avatar, maybe?
::hoping for some more opinions::
ahh.. well note the comment in my signature.. It was requested that I bring him back..
**slinks of because her opinion is discredited by her choice of avatar**
I haven't seen the tour, but I'll put in my two cents about the Broadway production:
Cary Shiels is brilliant. Talented, gorgeous voice, gorgeous man. He's going to knock your socks off as Roger.
Karmine is my favourite Mimi, aside from Daphne. She was also my first, but she's pretty fierce and has a great voice.
The rest of the cast is very talented, so I don't think I can really say anything negative about them.
I think that the negative things that have been being said about the Broadway production are mainly coming from people who have seen the show multiple times before, and who are watching it deteriorate in some ways. I do think that'll be help some by two very well-like, experienced leads in the roles of the central love story, and I also don't think you'll notice the negativity I know I've spoken about nearly as much as a first-timer. This is completely a matter of personal opinion and sentiment, but I do think there's something to be said for seeing the show for your first time at the Nederlander.
I know both opinions you've gotten are strongly biased by neither of us having seen the opposite cast of what we're recommending, but I saw go to New York.
Baised?? Us?? Never hehe..
**packs bags to go see the tour again**
hahaha
Allie i am so glad you loved the show! I have not seen the tour but i have heard great things abou the current cast. As for broadway, i saw it last week and even though jeremy is gone, i loved Karmine (mimi), Justin (angel), Mark Richard FOrd( collins) and the rest of the cast. So yeah i suggest broadway!
Karmine is my favorite Mimi next to Daphne. She's got an amazing voice and really acts the part.
Mark Richard Ford's "I'll Cover You: Reprise" gives me chills. It's amazing.
The rest of the cast is pretty good (except for Drew, who drove me crazy), so I'd definitely recommend it.
**realizes she is grossly out numbered here**
Thats ok more tour for me!!
Thankfully Drew's going to be gone in just a couple of weeks, right? Doesn't he leave in early March? Please say yes.
yes emcee, he does leave in march or so i have heard. I cry every time i hear mrf's reprise!!! I have seen other collin's and none do it for me.

what cast?
*chants because she doesn't know what to do*
Thanks for all your answers - I had to go away for a while, so it was nice to come back to find so many opinions. Mainly I think I wanted some reassurance that seeing the Broadway version wouldn't be a total waste of time. I'm going to try to go fairly soon while I'm still off work, so won't wait until Drew leaves. (That's if there are tickets to be had, I know it's been doing well lately.) Then if I'm really up for it, I could try to see the tour in March. ::goes to look at bank account::
Cam, 16 times? Wow. I know some Rentheads have gone a lot more than that, but still I'm impressed.

The tour cast. They're not coming anywhere near me again, so I think that one time will be my last for awhile.
I meant I have seen this touring cast 16 times.. that's not including the other casts I have seen..
Chloe if you can do DC in March it would be awesome.. I will be there..
::mind boggles at Cam's Rent exposure::
I'm not sure where would be best if I see the tour. CT or NJ are much closer to me, but I'm going to check out what the actual logistics of getting to those places would be. Who knows, maybe it would be easier just to jump on a train to DC than try to get to New Brunswick, NJ, wherever that is.
hehe, well like I said if you can make it to DC do come, it should be awesome.. I'm excited.. just under 8 weeks away..
You should definitely be able to get tickets for Broadway, Chloe. And not, RENT could never be a waste of time.
New Brunswick, NJ is relatively close to Newark. I'd venture to guess it's about 20 minutes from Newark.

o0o0o0o. yay touring cast!!! I want to see them! sadly, they aren't performing anywhere near the city (for obvious reasons).
I figure this is the best place to post this.
There is a guy in my building that looks like a not-hot version of Adam Pascal. He looks similar enough to him that you do a double-take, but realize upon further inspection that he really isn't because he's not hot. It may be the hair/goatee combo, but it's more than that.
I'm trying to see if he's on facebook so I can post the picture, but it's quite difficult considering I don't know his name.
Oh, and I'm seeing RENT in DC too, and my parents owe me big time, so I'm definitely going more than once. More than once as in every night.
lol, my friend just told me she saw these two twins on a swim team who look like Adam.
