*cries for AIDA*
Eventually you'll get back to it, Emcee. Give it some time.
Of course not everyone is going to like the music, that's understandable, but it seems like sometimes a critic must be thinking "Elton John is a flamboyant, silly pop star, and the NY critics didn't like the music, so it must not be any good" rather than actually listening to it.
It's partly his own fault, but Elton is not given nearly enough credit for his musicianship. I think he's one of those rare people for whom music is their first language. When he was four, he sat down at the piano and started playing The Skater's Waltz out of nowhere. Then at his first lesson, his teacher played a four-page piece for him, and he repeated it back by ear perfectly. He got a special scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music (equivalent to Juilliard) when he was eleven and went for five years. They thought of him as a child prodigy. But unfortunately most people think of the crazy clothes or outrageous behavior when they think of Elton.
::seems to have gotten carried away - is it in the air today?::
it's ok chloe to gush over elton!!! It is kind of hard not too! As for aida, i am not a fan of the show but yes the scores is the strongest part of the show. I admit, i do love the God's love nubia!
Thanks, jen!
::feels it's time to change the subject and stop depressing Emcee::
It's now only seven weeks until mid-March!

I'm so excited!! I love it when the first pictures come out from filming. I'll be waiting for those.
That's all? Seven?
*squeak*
January is almost over already. Allie, I forgot about pictures from the shoot - I guess those do sometimes come out really early. And then there are people who get into early test screenings and write about it on the Ain't It Cool site. I'm not sure whether I'd want to read those, though. Films are often in kind of bad shape when they first start testing. But I probably won't be able to resist.
How are your wardrobe plans coming, Emcee?
Edited because it was Allie who brought up pictures

Heh. Non-existant. I have several people slated to accompany on my shopping excursion, probably at the end of February.
wheeeee!
Oh, and pictures will be taken at the New York shoot. I promise.
yeah pics!!!!!!! I need some cheering up. I will be without the internet until friday. I am already dying!
Well, I have no idea when they'll be released, but they'll definitely be taken.
well i am looking foward to the pics you will take emcee. Maybe you'll get to meet adam!!!!
Um, that is simply a must.
Do you have any way of knowing for sure that he'll be around on the day you go?
We're going to try to choose a day within that one week (aside from convenience for the person who's bringing us) based on what she knows about who will be there; we want to try to go on a day when they'll all be around, but if there isn't a day like that, then Adam's at the top of my list "must-see" cast members.
I should have known you'd have that all sussed out in advance! That sounds like a good way to prioritize. Oh boy, I can't wait to hear about this.

Emcee, is there any chance of you getting a camcorder or something similar to capture this day on film?
I can try to borrow one from my dad, but I'm kind of concerned about violations of copyright, and stuff. I really don't know what I'm allowed and not allowed to have photo or video footage of. I'm assuming I can't take any personal pictures of the set, but I'll find out as it gets closer. I'll make Adam talk to my camcorder if I can, that's for sure!
"I'll make Adam talk to my camcorder if I can"
You promised there would be a demonstration using a toy airplane, Emcee; that's all I'm saying.
Uh oh. That means I have to present him with another inanimate object, now doesn't it?
No sporks this time?
No, but I'm considering e-mailing him a copy after the fact. CONSIDERING. It probably won't happen because I'll chicken out, but you know. One inanimate object at a time. :-P
I wonder if he even remembers it. He's probably posed with tons of inanimate objects.
I would certainly hope so - or at least that he laughed about it. Part of me wishes he forgot, but that depends on whether or not I'm having a proud day.
ETA - rock on. I've proven my fandom to another doubter.
Good morning.. anyone here yet?
