HA! I've rendered you speechless.
I think it shows how tired I am that I didn't catch that 42,409 reference. Of course, I may be just slow in general.
Because I'm both shy and an introvert, I guess I've considered them to be the same thing, when really they're not.
Chloe - I think most people actually equate the two, which is understandable. I've always been intrigued by the caricatures of introvert vs extrovert; I think I am generally quiet although not shy, but for every hour I spend with people, even those I love, I need to spend almost equal amount of time alone enjoying some solitude, because no matter how *fun* it is, it always takes something out of me. Very unlike with one of my sisters who gets her energy from being around people. It's just interesting how it works. Okay, done threadjacking . Now I'll just wait for Emcee to post some of her 40,000-word essay on Adam.

You didn't catch it and I still got a "!!!"? I'm confused... I really thought I'd had you speechless! *pouts*
Here's how my essay starts:
Once upon a time....
No, it doesn't exist... other than in my head. Actually, I had to explain the spork saga to etheb's new roommate today. In person. I felt really normal.
You got a '!!!' because I thought, "Where in hell did that number come from? Sounds oddly familiar."
This is what happens when I go without sleep for too long. *Makes coffee*

haha, and it is. :-P
I didn't get it either, because I was reading it as "forty-two thousand" etc, rather than as individual numbers the way it is in the song.
Amasis, I really was struck by your introvert definition, maybe because I've never given it much thought before. I also need a lot of alone time, though in addition I don't feel very comfortable in social situations. (Yay for Emcee feeling normal!) For some reason, though, when I'm at work in the studio and having sometimes to talk to famous actors and directors, I'm fine. I guess I feel I have a good "excuse" for talking to them, whereas in other situations I don't.
I couldn't decide whether or not to use the comma... I wanted grammatical correctness, but sometimes I guess it's not for the best.
Well, it might not have helped anyway - we might have just thought you'd made a rare error and left it out by accident.
ETA: Thanks for putting an end to the curiosity about Norbert on the Norbert and John thread. I've never even seen him live, and I was starting to want to know who the mysterious other woman was. And I know even less about Michelle Lederer. It drives me nuts when people are coy about something like that - either give the information or don't mention it at all.

Well, when it was first a BIG rumour, people had no qualms with going "OHMYGOD guess what *I* saw today!!!" like they were privy to some big-time scandal and it was their place to tell everyone. Now, they think they're the only ones who know and want to keep it that way.
I just pulled a 'Chloe' and did some googling -- I was going to look for the book I mentioned, but I can't remember the title at the moment. I did, however, find a list of books that describes various types of introverts (are we all tired this weekend or what?
). As the guy who put up the list said: different books for different types of introverts. Slightly amusing, but if anyone's interested...
Thoughtful/Introspective: Solitude by A. Storr
Shy/Socially Anxious: The Gift of Shyness by A. Avila
Artistic/Creative: The Highly Sensitive Person by E. Aron
Worried: The Positive Power of Negative Thinking by J. Norem
Lonely/Isolated: Just Your Type by P. Tieger
Loner/Alone by Preference: Party of One by A. Rufus
Low Energy: High Energy Living by R. Cooper
Literary/Observer: Jane Austen, The Complete Novels
ETA: What thread are you talking about? I haven't been keeping up with the board lately.

I'm sorry his marriage broke up, if that is the case. It can be so hard on everyone.
Well, I'm off to bed - have a good night!
amasis, there's one entitled "Norbert and John" or something, that's basically about Norbert's sexuality.
Goodnight, Chloe!
*bump*

Yay, cam!! I'm only a teensy bit jealous...
The thread is dying?! But... but... this thread is where I started on BWW! It can't die! *bursts into tears* There are way too many random and/or appreciation threads; they're taking over. *sniffle*
This thread cannot and will not die. The Adam love will NEVER die.
Okay, okay. Not dying. Chloe and I were saying yesterday that there's just... a lack of Adam topics because he hasn't been around. And I'm just down because a lot of our "usual suspects" are missing.
And yes. Those silly imposter love threads. There have been a BWW love thread phases where people start a zillion of them, but this has been the only one to survive.

The other threads are only lust threads, then. This is the only love one!
Ugh, we're having another blizzard at the moment. It's so hot in my room that I need to keep the window open, but there's no screen so the snow just keeps coming in!
so I'm not the only one supremely ANNOYED by the sudden appearance of all these "Love" threads?
GAH!!
Allie love dont be jealous..
