A nod and a smile would definitely pinpoint you for him. Maybe you just need to practice saying a few things like, "that's right, I was at [pick gig at which your encounter felt most comfortable]. It was a great show."
encounter sounds so naughty!!

it's a clause of the restraining order..
*falls over laughing* I love it!!
Nooo not a restraining order! *gasp!*
Chloe, that's a great idea. Thanks. I'm not good at social situations like that unless I really push myself. I need to stop being so shy.
That's hysterical, you guys!
Yes Em you really need to work on that..
Well, we don't want the sum total of your report to be, "Adam asked if we'd met before. I nodded and smiled."
But seriously, I can so relate. I actually did that once - except that I only smiled, there was no nod!
If you can talk to him as a person and not just a "fan," you'll probably find it easier to get into a regular conversation.

I shall start creating a plan! It's strange, because people usually tell me how impressed they are that I can hold my own in conversation with people nearly twice my age, but when it's someone like this, I completely regress.
Is it possible for you to have some kind of function there? Like helping the person who's bringing you in some way? That's an enormous help for me at my job.
I think she's just bringing us to visit. It's a connection through my friend Erin's family, who knows she's a big fan, and they're letting me come along. A function might help it go more smoothly...
WAY hot new avatars, Emcee and nia!!!
Aren't they pretty?! I kind of wish it were a little bit bigger, but *sigh* so adorable.
It would have to be unofficial, otherwise you could run into union problems, but maybe you could offer to do whatever you could, run an errand or two. I had another thought, which would be to bring up that you're thinking of pursuing a career in theater criticism, and are very curious to see something of how Rent is being turned into a movie.
Ah, thank you so much for ideas. Thusfar I've been like "oh God. What am I going to say to them? What am I going to do? I have to say something...."
*feels slightly relieved that there are things to discuss*

Chloe to the rescue!
Well, I hope it's helpful. In conjunction with the theater criticism stuff (or just on its own) you could talk about seeing DRS. As a friend of Sherie and Norbert, I'm sure Adam would be interested.
And I'm going to need a lot of rescuing in the next few weeks!
YAY DRS! I tell everyone I know that they have to see it.
I wish I was the photographer for the movie..
We certainly do too, Cam.
Seriously though guys, not trying to soudn all full of myself, but some of the movie stills in general the last few years that I have seen (not Rent because I haven't seen any yet) really tend to suck. I can't help but think I could do better.. is that egotistical?
Not to mention how cool would that be?!?!?!
aww, that would be so great cam.
But don't worry. I promise that the pictures will turn out good. I shall say no more.
I didnt' mean your Em.. Cam you even take a camera..I was talking in general.. I would love to do all the still photography for the movie..
I'm bringing a camera, but I'm not sure if I can use it. And I was talking about the stills.
oh.. ok.. Do we know who is doing the stills and if so what else they have done?
Probably not..
I do. I can't say, though. *zips lips*
Sorry...
