Oh cool. I don't know much about Little Women, but I like what I've heard from it.
Do any of you cool BWW people from Vegas know of a school called Cimarron? Does it have an ok theatre department? I was going to audition for LVA, but then something came up and I couldn't...

Posted: 7/9/06 at 10:48pmCimarron eh...well good luck. They have a theatre dept. buuuuuuuut the shows aren't uh...well good. hahah what grade are you going to be in? There might be more auditions in August. But I'm not sure. I'll let you know!

Posted: 7/9/06 at 11:42pmHmm.. well ok. I'm going into 11th. I think that the last auditions were the last ones for the upcoming school year, but thanks anyway. Do you guys know of any teen theatre type places in Vegas? I go to one here in LA, and thought itd be fun and a good way to meet people with the same interests in a new city.

Posted: 7/10/06 at 12:08amWell yeah theres 3 auditions. February, March and August. But sometimes theatre doesnt do the August audition because we've accepted as many as we can. Teen theatre things...no not really. Unless you call "I'm addicted to crystal meth, ran away from home and became an illegal prostitute" a theatre club. hahah kidding.

Lol. I dont think I'd wanna join that theatre club..
There probably isnt a lot of room in the theatre department for incoming juniors though, right?

Posted: 7/10/06 at 12:32amWell you'd be in the class with all the sophomores. But Mr. Born is the best teacher ever. You never know until you audition. If they want you that bad, they'll take you.

Sorry to threadjack... haha but I just looked at the LVA website and it says the last auditions were in May. And about juniors being accepted, I work at a dance store here in Vegas (I'm an LVA student too but I'm in the dance program) and a girl came in the other day and she was talking about how she had auditioned for the theatre department (as a rising junior) and had had "high scores and everything" but they told her they "didn't accept juniors." Now, I'm assuming this isn't true because I know of at least two people who were accepted last year as juniors, but who knows?
The only teen theatre thing I know about is Rainbow Company, which is ages 10-18... my best friend is in it and she loves it, but the shows they do are pretty much awful. So I don't know how much help that's going to be.

I think they only accept you as a junior if already to go LVA now that I think about it. You're right...
Thank God those were the last auditions. Sitting through them were like the worst 2 weekends of my life. At least I got like 40 hours from it. And Mr. Edwards bought us all bagels and orange juice. Yes I repeat, Mr. Edwards. hahaha
Rainbow Company, completely forgot about them. Probably a good thing? Kidding, it's theatre, it's experience. Not necessarily a good one, but nonetheless. Also Super Summer Theatre goes on, and I think there's one more show you can audition for that goes up in Sept. (Noises Off)But most of those auditions happen in May/June.
My friends and I were just in a production of Parade at the Community College, so community theatre is a cool thing too!

Posted: 7/10/06 at 1:44pmHmm.. maybe I'll look into Rainbow company. The shows might be ok, and even if theyre not, its probably a lot of fun. Thanks for the info.

Posted: 7/10/06 at 11:33pmI'm still here!! I miss you guys a whole lot. I think we may need to wait to get the whole group together to go on a trip. It wouldn't be fair to whoever we leave out... and it just wouldn't be the same missing any one of us. : ) But I'm all for a gathering whenever/wherever! Love you guys.

Anyway, I don't know that BWW has helped me at all(other than knowing what's happening on Broadway) but the Student Board has made me more confident on BWW!
