I may not be here for the matinee cam tomorrow. Going out tonight so I may not be up to getting my butt out of bed for it. Will be here for the evening one though.

Hello folks. Well, I've had a Lend Me a Tenor themed day. Oy gevalt, the show is stuck to me like glue.

guys in need some guidance. should i spend $350 to see 6 shows? they'd be Stomp, Mamma Mia!, Oklahoma!, Peter Pan, Lord of the Dance, and a performance by David Copperfield. worth it??? the price for each show isn't bad, but i'm not really all that interested in a few, but i do love live theater. gah, i don't know.

Lord of the Dance isn't really worth it. Same with Oklahoma. But that's my opinion.

yeah, i'm not too keen on Lord of the Dance either. and i don't know anything of Oklahoma. eeh, i guess i'll think about it some more before buying.
whoah, why isn't oklahoma worth it?

Oklahoma didn't amuse me, that's all. It's boring at times.

Cat, since i don't even know what it's about, why is it good?
Personally I enjoy the score... its about a feud between cowboys and farmers in Oklahoma, story doesn't sound stellar sure and as Kerrie says some of the lyrics are now a bit cliched, but really some amazing catchy and beautiful songs, rent the movie its alot of fun...shirley jones!
...the dancing dream sequence is the only part I find even remotely boring in the movie and I'm sure live its much more thrilling...
I, on the other hand, think the score and story are both cheesy and boring. I can appreciate that it was a big thing way back when.. but that doesn't mean I have to like it. BAM. lol
Oooh, and get the one with Hugh Jackman instead...even better!
Ohh and wanted to add Although I like Oklahoma I don't think that package of musicals is worth the money...

Yeah, i think i'll go with a single ticket to Mamma Mia, and leave it at that. thanks.
...and of course, everything is better with Hugh Jackman!!

sarah, where do you get all those awesome livejournal pictures?? did you make all the ones that say "MINE!!"? because if so, i'm jealous of you for being able to do that. really i'm jealous of anyone that can make things like that on the computer. anyway i REALLY like your L5Y anti-drug one.

all my icons are credited, so yeah, i made a lot of them. i'm horribly anal when it comes to making them, though, i can spend a couple hours re-doing an icon over and over til i get it right. thanks for the compliment, Julia.
u probably wouldn't understand this unless u have IO digital tv, but, as u know, IO offers tons of music channels, one of them being a showtunes channel.
so, i was listening to it today. didn't know the song, so i flipped to the next channel. i come back to the showtunes music channel to check...AND LIKE ZIS/LIKE ZAT IS PLAYING! and little facts about the singers pop up at the side of the screen! they basically had the main info, like greg's DOB and hometown, and some stuff about him being on Chicago and Victor/Victoria. It was AWESOME.
i dont know why i got so excited over a song playing on my TV screen. haha
I LOVE oklahoma! it was my second bdway show ever, and my band class took a trip to see it a few years back. no matter how stupid the premise might seem..it's all WORTH IT WHEN PATRICK WILSON TAKES HIS SHIRT OFF! whoo! lol
I have IO tv...I love the channel where you can watch the same videos from broadway.com...
WHAT? THERE'S A CHANNEL LIKE THAT?
omg, what is it!?
On my tv its channel 632, might be diff on yours...its called broadway.com television...checking your guide to find it would be prob easiest...initials bwyi

<--- New avatar! Don't you just love it?
If anyone wants to see, I have a cast picture (I cropped my avatar from it) with and without text.
I was sort of thinking to make it black and white, but I thought, "Eh, screw it. It's going to be color." Maybe next time.
sarah, I wouldn;t see those shows. None of them seem interesting, to me at least. and I love you icon on livejournal!
