Well ya see, my cousin wanted to take me into the city so that we could see a show on my birthday, this Wednesday, by the way! .. We REALLY wanted to see Putnam, but we know that the lottery is hard, and that TKTS doesn't have it because it's always sold out. So we went a lookin online and no discount codes are available and the cheaptest tix are 95 bucks! Nothing else good is currently on that we haven't seen. It sucks.
.
sad! I'm sorry. see DRS again!
Hmmmm. I have an easy solution. See DRS!
And yes. I appear.
I'm seeing it on the 22nd. And I'd like to see something I haven't seen. We were gonna see Producers but we don't have a credit card, lol. Maybe we'll just hit TKTS and see what we can get.
coolness. Traci, you and I had the same idea. and liz, it is a good idea!
Yeah, that's probable your best bet.
good idea!
skadjhflsa;kjhfhgfslka;jhfask;ljhfdsa;ojh!!!
5-page paper responding to a book in sociology...omg it's actually what I was working on during the Wednesday cam if you guys remember me posting about it...anyway, weird thing I clicked open but not save and yeah the whole thing is lost and I hafta redo it! Ulgh! Not due till Nov 23 but still...really pissed.
And yeah I've been really tired and in a rush for everything and out and then realized I hadn't posted here in a couple games so decided to play a game which I should know by now not to play in which I see when someone notices I haven't been posting and says wheres Amanda b/c what's actually happening is ppl are thinking it in their heads but don't post it so I must find new games to play.
Just finished playing west side story, and highlights from wicked and miss Saigon pieces on Clarinet so that cheered me up. Saw Naked Girl last night, very very funny, perhaps not the best thing ever, but certainly don't understand terrible reviews. Matt was great, a bountiful of energy as I told him. Saw Great American Trailer Park musical Thursday, also cute.
Kerrie and friends were at Rent so I actually went in lobby where I saw door open and walked in and stood for the last couple of songs, was quite amusing that it was easy. Anywayz, then at the stage door(ooh Karmine Alers is a doll...), I saw Michael Grief(director of RENT!) Couldn't say anything and was about to leave but realized he was still standing there so stayed behind. Finally had nerve to talk...shook...a...lot...and...talked...like...this...and...giggled...very...embarassing...I...never...do...that but he was really nice understood I was nervous and said he really appreciated it.
Oh and in other amazing news...who read about the Elvis Costello thingie on Halloweenie? I'm going. For those who haven't at John Jay college lotsa Broadway ppl will be singing Elvis Costello songs...among ppl scheduled to appear:
Adam Pascal
Anthony Rapp
Matthew Morrison
Sherie Rene Scott
Norbert Leo Butz
Daphne Ruben Vega
Tracie Thoms
Audra MacDonald
Patrick Wilson
Raul Esparza
Gavin Creel
Ahhh!! Soo many amazing ppl on one stage, and it's for charity...cheapest tickets were $100, got that. W/ that line-up they could be singing Britney Spears songs for all I care(though I'm grateful they're not). Eeee, halloweenie will be awesome.
I love those darn bellboys!
This is an amazing picture.
Well well Liz, step into the Broadway whore's office. Here's some helpful hints:
On TKTS this past week has beenwill add personal comments)
Naked Girl on Appian Way-50% except for Wed eve-not best play ever like Pillowman but I found it very funny and you can't go wrong w/ Matty
Absurd Person Singular-haven't seen it
Beauty and the beast-have a feeling that's not what you're looking for
Chicago-35% sometimes, but I'd avoid it w/ Brooke and wait for Charlotte to come back
Chitty-50% all week-eh cute, amusing, not necessarily somehting I'd recommend attending a second time
DRS-doubt I hafta comment
Doubt-very good. Prefer pillowman, but magnificent performances and really makes you think-alternates between 50% off and 25% off
Fiddler-50% all week--great show in general, def recommend if you've never seen it no matter the cast
Hairspray-50% all week-not the best show, has faults, but lotsa fun and I love the music
ehh skipping some b/c I feel like it
Sweet Charity-50% all week-I recommend avoiding, can't imagine it's better w/ Christina than Charlotte who I saw
Phantom-50% most of week-if you haven't seen or seen in a while I highly recommend going back-Hugh is gone, but from what I've heard Howard McGillan is wonderful too
Producers-has oscillated between 50% and 35% for the week
Also, have you considered some off broadway? If you haven't seen Forbidden Broadway, I can't recommend it enough, you'd love it, parodies broadway and Norbie! haha Just saw great american trailer park musical, that was cute. And Altar Boyz, not great, but amusing...Scott Porter is gorgeous...i say worth it from him lol.
Any more questions? E-mail Amanda@broadwaywhore.net
We were actually thinking of seeing Forbidden Broadway: SVU. And back to all the shows you reccomended...
Didn't like Hairspray
Hell no to Beauty and the Beast.
My cousin doesn't wanna see Chitty so that's a no, lol.
Not sure if I'd like Phantom without Gerry, and I can see that anytime at home, lol.
I really DON'T (yes I said it)wanna see DRS because I'm seeing it on my birthday and like I said want to see some other shows.
Fiddler, I get enough of Harvey in my town, lolol, and I don't really like the music.
Not interested in Chicago.

Sorry that I've been away, everyone, but Leo is too cute.
My mom and I were also watching "50 (?) Things about Being Queer". Gah, it's just SO funny sometimes.
