yuuuup Liz i totally know what you mean. i'm going on friday, and if hes not there, i will cry. thats right..cry. just like if john wasn't there, i'd cry. or greg. sherie...i understand why shes not gonna be there so i'm not as upset about it lol. but yeah..i REALLY hope hes there. i'm too excited for my trip. its not good lol
With all due respect to Joe, I will not see the show without Greg or Norbert unless I had a very very good reason.
Oof Liz, why so picky, have you ever really seen a Broadway show you didn't enjoy at all?
Hell, maybe this is just me, but I even enjoyed parts of Brooklyn...
And I have no posters, an obscene amout of tshirts, but no posters, mayhaps Sweeney'll be my first....
And who wants to write an essayon World war 1 poetry for me?!?

Gah. I just found out that my teacher DOESN'T do New York trips anymore.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
This is so heart breaking.
She does, however, take her students up to L.A. for a big studio tours/theatre classes type of weekend.
what is acting hw?
Yawn. Just woke up.

I love Joe. Haven't seen him as Freddy, or Andre, but I've seen him in 'concert' and he's a amazing. Lol. At the end of the curtain call, when he does his thing, my mom and I always shriek, "JOE!" Ha. We are losers.
Cat: acting hw ( I know, it sounds funny) is writing a critique for a show i saw (writing about challenges and obstacles and that sort of thing), answering a 'Who am I' questionaire thingy for my scene character (which is a lot harder than you thing), and rewriting my entire scene and adding in what I want to get out of my scene partner for ever line I say. that part really sucks.
that is acting hw.
Ha beat ya Kerrie, woke up at 2:40!
I agree w/ Cat. Certainly I don't expect anyone to jump for joy when they find out an understudy is in but sometimes I really do think people overreact. I mean two friends were seeing DRS for the first time when I saw it w/ Joe but they thought he was fantastic. There were little differences within him and Norbie, Norbie's movement was better, but after seeing Feeling Electric, I hate to admit it, but I think Joe may even have the better singing voice. I mean for those of you who have seen the show quite a few times and say you never would w/ an understudy, I don't understand that at all. Like I think I'm seeing Laura next weekend and I'm excited, I mean I adore Sherie and her performance, but it's nice to see a different take on the character for you know one of 10 times seeing the show. Are all understudies great? No, I've certainly heard bad things about some, but to not give them any chance is ridiculous IMO. I mean, Charlotte D'amboise is the standby/understudy for Christina Applegate and I can't begin to tell you how amazing she was and I'm sure much better than Christina. Give people more credit.
Cat, I guess I agree that I enjoyed little parts of Brooklyn, namely performances, particularly Ramona Keller. But man it gave me a big headache...
Amanda, I did think that Joe's voice was a little better. (don't kill me ali!) especially in "love is my legs." ooooh, man, i *loved* it. and, he had a more distinct southern accent for Buzz.
but, yeah, understudies should be given more credit. They were chosen for the job for a reason, so most of the time, they're really good.
i have drama homework too! coolness
ya, acting HW doesn't sound fun...
and I still haven't written my essay, analyzing the minutia of poetry drives me nuts...
...and I see shows just rarely enough, that whenever I do see them its always exciting even if they don't blow me away...

On the understudy note... I've seen Dennis more than I've seen John. I've seen Dennis three times, adn john two.
seen john twice (third time this coming saturday hopefully) and Dennis once. GOt to say that I liked John better. he has more of a comidic side to him than Dennis does. that's all.

I agree. Though, I like the way Dennis plays Lawrence as well. Kind of like he is trapped in the 'sport'.
