Well a bit of Sweeney for ya:
so I was in the front row, right side. OMG, I was right by the clarinet...AMAZING. I mean...she played some high notes so quietly which is HARD, and everyone had to go from playing to singing, some of the strings had to play and sing at the same time(I can't even play clarinet and walk at the same time...), go into character, sing, go to instrument, go from accordian to flute or clarinet to violin, weird combos and I can't believe how great they all were. Of course the acting and singing and production was great too, just...amazing. That's what I kept saying backstage. But I think the funniest moment was when I chatted w/ Michael Cerveris a bit but the woman who plays the beggar woman and clarinet came down and I couldn't move my mouth or get a word out, she was just so amazing and yeah. Will def hafta go back another time and sit further back b/c I think I paid too much attention to the instruments and also, I really was in a kinda partial view seat. I could see the stage but there were quite a few times I couldn't see the main action or who was singing, fine w/ me considering I preferred to watch the instruments, but the seats are the same price as the others. Also I wonder if it would be hard to follow knowing nothing about the show...but to finally see a live production w/ that, amazing voices and just...yeah amazing. Which I said like 20 times today...
