I have the orignal LSOH. It's good, but I really miss the music.
Hello all. I'm just back from an exhausting day at work. Everybody in the world came to DC today to celebrate their holiday and I talked until I got so hoarse that I simply couldn't talk anymore!!
- Dre: I'm so sorry I had to miss your radio show today. I was really looking forward to it. For what it's worth, I love Lloyd-Webber, including Cats. In fact, I love cats of all kind. Rum Tum Tugger is my least favorite though. I'm particularly fond of "Bustopher Jones" because the dialog perfectly describes my sweet ol' tom cat. (He was the size of a mountain lion.)
(By the way - I love your new avatar.)
- chrrymn and any others suffering from seasonal depression: you need to get a sunlight therapy lamp. These are also called light boxes. They provide artificial sunlight in a room. It's been proven that this kind of depression occurs when the days become shorter and our hours of exposure to sunlight becomes extremely limited. Being in school and work, rather than outside, adds to this. The lights are expensive but well worth it. Ask your parents for one for Christmas. (NOTE: These are NOT sunlights. See here: http://www.fullspectrumsolutions.com/light_therapy_13_ct.htm )
- Amanda: I'll make myself easy to spot. I'll be wearing a bright red coat tomorrow. It's just gotten too cold to go coatless anymore. (I HATE wearing a coat!) Just look for a large, moving STOP sign.
I love winter...and coats...and I spent far too long agonizing over which scarf, gloves, and snowboots to get...and then way overpaid...and enjoyed it!
Color Purple has a great rush ticket policy, although rumor is it might change soon...I'd try that before going to tkts booth...
Watched Oprah, color purple looks really good, I thought Oprah singing along was a bit odd...
The end by Blucat500...
Kerrie?? Cry during a show??? Unheard of, blasphemy!
Mamie, err...okay but...umm...in March, ended up being the second time I saw DRS, my friend from GW/Chicago came to the city and we met up and ended up at DRS lotto. before we did, I warned her she's gonna do so much touristy things that I'm gonna have to make fun of. Well, the first thing that happened...we met in front of the Lion King, and as soon as I saw her I started laughing.. See, she too, was in a bright red coat. I told her to look around at the rest of the city and the coats everyone else was wearing....dead dark black. Her bright red stuck out like a big bright tomato. If you're okay w/ that fine, but...can't promise I may not laugh a little, after all Sarah is one of my best friends and I spent the whole day laughing at her(she did lotsa touristy stuff)...
Ooooh thats harsh...I like red coats...they're christmasy!
And I've never done anything touristy in NY(no empire state building, statue of liberty etc)...and I do plan on it at some point in the future...15 years in NY be damned!
No Cat, touristy stuff isn't about visiting places, it's more in the way you are in NY...looking up while you walk, stopping in the middle of the street to stare at things, take pictures, take every single flyer you're offered home as a "souvenir", take home every brochure/flyer you get from any place you visit, umm...what else did my friends do...stopping to watch the naked cowboy/cowgirl play, walking really really slow, not crossing the short little street as soon as the orange hand blinks, not crossing the street even if no cars at all are coming b/c it says not to, etc.
And hmm, do you have any further info on the color purple rush policy changing? b/c I like to see shows not too early in previews, at least till they're frozen and the actors get more comfortable in the parts...but if rush policy is changing soon, maybe it would be worth it to get the great seats and go again. What do you think?
hahahaha, best thing said by someone yet...pick my profession...OOMPA LOOMPA!
and for the record, I happen to abhor red...own one red shirt, hardly ever wear, and christmasy is no excuse...(Jewish?)

i'm a tad clueless...aren't rush tickets something for students? if not, where/how do you get them?
Its a general rush policy...so not just for students...
And by that definition of tourist,I actually got suckered into buying one of those comedy club tickets...so I'm officially no better...
And for the record, I don't own any red either and my coat is gray, and a large portion of my family is jewish (Chanukkah every year)...but I still mangae to tolerate people wearing red...
Click me for color purple info
hey all!
don;t worry about it mamie. There are going to be loads of times when you can listen. I'm on for the rest of the year. lol.
oh, I have a question. Does any subscribe to the Playbill magazine? it's like $20, and I think that is what I'm going to ask my parents to get me for christmas. is it any good?
I am quite aware of the fact that everyone and their first cousin wears black coats in NY. (I don't spend quite as much time in NY as here - but it's pretty close.) The fact is that I have 4 other coats in the closet and all are black. I have now reached that wonderful age when I can wear whatever bright colors and flashy bling that I want. I just chalk it up to age. (I'm also a little feisty sometimes but I try to behave myself when I come to NY.)
Just because New Yorkers don't have the guts to wear what they want and insist on walking the same rutted path as everyone else, doesn't mean I have to!
I might add that I'll also be wearing black pants and a simple blue sweater. (Well - at least as simple as Bob Macke can get).
oh, and those games that Barb put on the website are so addictive!
had to share that.
Many shows' rush tickets are for students but CP currently has a general rush policy.
Whoops behind. And excuse me, anyone who has met me known I am not afraid to do whatever I want...(Kerrie, Cat, skipping and singing in the street in front of the cute marines?)
I happen to love my pretty black P coat.
I can certainly tolerate red, just things that came to mind. As many ppl state, though I always thought it was blue, apparently pink has become my new main color. Love pink, hate red. I am a strange one.
Well you see this explains why you must have reached a certain age in order to be a member of the Red Hat Society. There are many who wish to join who are actually too young. They are instructed to wear pink only.
I'm confused...

Heylo all. Had a wonderbar time at the mall. Lots of pizza and cheescake, and I also purchased Wicked (the book).
that's cool sarah. thanks anway! yeah, eyebrow plucker, weird.
read it gav. I'm almost done with it. it's pretty good, but I feel the musical is very different than the book.
K guys, need help sorta. Long story, but...there's some kind of merchandise/bcefa survey going around, and I don't know I'm kind of confused, but I'm supposed to find out like from ppl or you guys of all the drs merchandise what would you want the most and same for special bcefa things you can get w/ a donation...so what do you want the most for a reasonable price.

Oh, I forgot...David called during lunch. He went to his callback today...he said that they made him sing a song that showed a higher register in front of the producers. Then, he read/memorized some sides. Now, it's just a "wait and see", which means he's going to wait for a call.
Cross your fingers!
is there a list we can see?
Is that book appropriate gav...it has some fairly graphic scenes...A.K.A everything at the philosophy club...and Fiyero's and Elphaba's tryst goes a bit beyond singing a bubblegm pop love ballad...
