Congrats Jamie!!!!!
Circusliz- Very cool about Sweeney...I've heard different things about Patti so it's nice to see that she was decent, lol.
Greg's kindness, generosity, charm, and warmth* has made him a HUGE number of lifetime fans. New York will be hurting when he returns to the West coast.
(* and did I mention one of the best PERFORMANCES on a Broadway stage today?)
ditto, mamie. greg is everything a performer should be. :)
Will write about today shortly but more importantly...she's probably sleeping now but Annie when you read this...the thread on the main board that says something about his last show and for some reason someone wrote do you really think John Lithgow has fangirls? I wanted to answer, but...paging you to that thread
Okie, storytime!
Let's see...usually don't include this part in story, but I was driving around Times Square looking for parking. At one point I was turning onto...47th maybe. So you know how when you make turns you hafta wait for people to walk by. So when I went to make this turn, there was one person I was waiting to cross the street...Mr. Jbara himself. I honked at him lol, he smiled and waved at me. Then Hunter Foster passed me, and I almost honked at him until I reminded myself that he has no idea who I am, and it would be really weird of me to honk at him, so I didn't.
Anywayz, met my sister at the show...beautiful view from the second row Let's see sometimes I don't know what more to add about the show. Ooh, so Jason was on, and he was fabulous as well! My sister was disappointed she didn't see Norbert but thought Jason was great, and even me who could be very nit-picky and say Norbert rolls 2 more times, and I really enjoyed him too. I kinda feel like w/ the end of DRN that overall his range seems to be a bit lower, but he totally hit the "hand" note. Very impressed w/ him. I adore the DRS ensemble
Umm what else...couple of moments where I think they were trying not to laugh and would hold poses longer. as usual, the audience really came alive during Ruprecht and was a wonderful, enthusiastic audience for the rest of the show. There was massive applause after the first appearance of Greg and Joanna in the robes and Greg got quite an applause at curtain call, I was happy.
Realized how emotional Dirty Rotten Number is going to be next week. I mean the good-bye Freddy...if they're not crying, I certainly will be.
Umm, really can't think of much else w/ the performance. My sister looved it. I knew she would. Maybe Ryan can add more. Rachelle was right in front of me quite a bit so we smiled at each other a lot, she's the only one I really noticed doing that w/, but of course got lotsa waves at curtain call. It was funny, a DRS money landed right on my sister so she gave it to me and I was clapping w/ it, and then it fell out of my hands, and I looked for it, got back up to see Dennis trying to get my attention to say hi. It actually was great being not dead center...the big stars generally acknowledge the audience, it's the awesome ensemble ppl that I get special waves from.
So after the show, talked to ppl for a little bit. Talked w/ Joe for a little while, asked him how he was doing...he said he's doing better, just came back to ensemble Friday night, may go on next week. He also assured me that Norbert WILL be in John's last show. Like a natural disaster would hafta occur for Norbert to not be at John's last show, so that's exciting.
Had another maybe I'm here too much moment--when ppl apparently know me who I don't realize know me. When Jacqueline Bayne walked out I was just smiling and she took a step towards me and was like hi how are you? I was surprised, I mean I think she was talking on the stage when I was there one day and I didn't say much, something about she felt so short in the ensemble and i was like here ya go...stood next to her, now you don't hafta feel short. Didn't realize she'd remember me.
Same w/ Jack. He actually came over to chat for a little while, considering I didn't even realize he knew me last time...it amuses me. I love how willingly I admit to perhaps being there a bit too much...
Greg was out early...but prob b/c two ppl I think he was taking back were outside and he asked if they were here, said he'd sign first and then he'd take them in. I purposely did this b/c I know Greg well enough to think he'd do something like this, so i was like...this is my sister. And he goes, hi sister! do you have a name? and such, haha. he asked me how many sisters I have b/c he met the other. I said just the two, but my mom's coming w/ me the end of Jan, so lucky him, he can meet the whole family lol.
Oh, and normally I don't really talk to or wait near/for John or Norbert, but w/ my sis there we stood by the barricade and w/ him nearly leaving I stayed. I told him I'll be here next week and won't DRN be so emotional? he laughed and said he'll try to hold it together and I said okay...well I'll be crying.
And then he kinda surprised me and said thanks so much for your loyalty. So I turned to my sis and asked does that mean he kinda recognizes me? She said it def sounded that way, said even if I didn't necessarily talk to him a lot he prob must have seen me there so many times. So then...John...very kinda...sorta...err, recognizes me. That's really cool.
Ohh hehe...then I realized it was just John and you know what you do sometimes like you ask a question out loud that you don't intend to get an answer to? So not that my sister would know what I'm talking about but I turned to her and quietly said where's Patrick? And John's like oh he's getting the car ready. And I was like ohh...thanks...very red, didn't mean for him to hear me.
so yeah, wonderful day as expected!
Wow...my first really loong post in a while...I should start doing them more often, I miss them.
awesome story, as always, amanda!
YAY! joe's back! that's really, really good news. i'm glad he's getting better!
and oh man, i can't believe that it'll be john AND ANDREW'S last show next week! it's all happening WAY too fast!

Random responses in which I'll no doubt forget something I meant to say ...
Slideshow ... #'s 45 and 45 for Jan. 7 ... had the gal ID'ed as Roxanne, but Greg corrected me ... it was Julie Connors, and those have been updated with the correct captions. I should've checked with him on that one to start with. So if you looked at the slideshow right after I uploaded it, just know that that was Julie in those two. :)
iwearshoes, thanks again for the photo! I always love posting those, and I know Greg loves getting them. :) That section of the site was his idea, and I have to agree, it has been a great addition. Wish more folks would send 'em in ... I've run across photos of fans with Greg on webshots and other places that we have never received at the site (and I mean people who have never ever sent us ANY pics). Granted, no one's obligated ... but seems like if they're willing to put them online, they'd send them to us too. Makes me a little sad .... boo hoo ... sniff ....
Anybody got a tissue? ...
[EDIT: also meant to say to WagnerFan that I always love reading comments like yours. And thanks to Mamie for "seconding" the sentiment. Greg is just a wonderful person. Period.]

hey all, i know I haven't posted in a while. been sort of busy and my wireless internet sucks at home. but I have read all the pages and I have caught up. can't wait for next sunday! so far, I know there is me, Ryan, Amanda, and maybe Kat going to the show. anyone else from here? I'm going to post a thread on the main to see if any other BWWers would want to meet up and have dinner. anyway, got to get to bed soon.
Jamie: good luck with Little Shop. and congrats on Region choir! I tried that once (i mean, auditioned for it, but never got in).
annie: I know I said this before, but the background you created from ali's pictures is incredible!!! I really wish i could do that.
Mamie: sorry that the webcam didn't cheer you up. hope you feel better!
welcome Tammy!
and.....I think that is it. all that i wanted to say.
"I should've checked with him on that one to start with."
::Turns away and whistles, w/ her face quite red, as when she came in on the thread I said aww Roxanne so kinda thinking it's my fault...besides that I should have known better::
*insert embarassing face, I'm too lazy to figure out how to make one here*
So, my friends just left. It was a good night. I hadnt seen any of my friends since Wednesday so it was really great to see them. Unfourtunately I was outvoted and had to watch the Lizzy Maguire movie. *gags*
Brokeback Mountain opened here so I'm going to see that with my friend Jess tomorrow (mAybe). Only thing is, after reading the Adam Pascal thread I'm afraid that I'm going to have visions of Adam and Raul kissing while watching this movie. lol.
Panda: What a great story. It must have been weird for Greg to have this seemingly random car honk at him while crossing the street.
Traci, you'll love BBM! It's amazing, Ali was off to see it tonight. Silly Adam thread, forget that, think of all the amazing things we said about the movie. I mean Jake's pretty hot. You'll get so into the movie you won't think of Adam and Raul. Maybe when the movie's over...lol.
Haha, I don't think necesarrily that if a car is honking near you, you assume it's at you, but you naturally look to either make sure or see what's going on, I'm sure until he saw me waving he didn't suspect the honk was at him--I mean, it's the city.
message for Barb:
I do have stage door pics to send to you but have to wait until I get home again (I've been staying with my mum the last couple of weeks) in order to scan them! But don't worry I wont forget-not least because Greg himself told me I had to email them! lol
I love that section of the site, I waste far too much time looking through those pictures (alsmost as much time as I waste here ....)
Em
I want to see BBM to see what all the fuss is about but it was sold out on Friday night. Saw Grandma's Boy instead.....
Anyway, to echo Amanda, the show today was very nice. Good audience, great performances. Jason was actually very good and it is nice to see a different Freddy take for a change. What was most pleasing to see is that the show survives very well on its material rather than solely on the actors. Though I have seen everyone's U/S but Greg (the guy is a horse!), the audience always has a good time no matter who is playing what. Of course, every actor brings their own quirks to the roles but I have a great feeling that the tour is going to very successful.
DRS is going to be so emotional next weekend though. Norbert is going to be on too. It's going to be a great show and we will have plenty of pics for Annie, right Amanda?

oh Ryan: I love you too.
You and Amanda are so GREAT for thinking of me.
And just to let you know: I will cry too...where is a tissue right now?...ok, I am fine.
amanda - " he's getting the car ready?"" He is sofeur too?? And what else?
hey Ryan do you think you'll be able to share pics with others who are too far away to go to John's last show *cough* *wink*
also so unfair teasing us about the tour christine remind me have dates/cities been announced for that yet? I didn't even know it was certain there was a tour (bad little scoundrels fan that I am lol!)

wrq ... yes, it is your fault, girl! lol I did catch that post, and I decided not to bother Greg because I thought "well, if anybody would know who someone is, it'd be Amanda!" lol So ... yeah ... but that's okay. That image really wasn't very clear, and with all she had on, it's understandable.
Em ... thanks! :)
gotta scoot ...

emilia - of course they share the pictures with everyone...
.....but they will make those photos because of me, me MEE!
Oh I am such a b**ch. Sorry.
Oh and Amanda - I would like to make a wallpaper for Greg, can you make a picture of him too (when he is smiling or waving), after the show or on the street or whatever.
And that goes for John too!
annie: do you mean "take" instead of "make"? (little English lesson for you :) )
I got a digital camera for christmas, so I'll take pics too. Maybe of the show too, since I can use no flash on it. going to be a lot of awesome pics on Sunday!
no cam wed. but cam on Sat. Last chance to see John, annie! You might have to request an appearance of John.
oh, and I have some very sad news. A senior at my college (class of 2006) was hit by a car on Jan. 1 and then died from the injuries a few days later. I'm going to his wake later on today, since he went to a private school near me and his wake is like a few miles away from me. I, unfortunately, didn't know him, but please keep his family in your thoughts. It must really be tough for them. thanks.
got to go take my dog for a walk. see ya later!

yeah, TAKE.
So no cam on wednesday
So on Saturday will be the last time I can see him OMG, what if he won't show up?
I'm sure Greg will make sure that John makes an appearence on the cam on Saturday. And that goes for Andrew and Sara as well.
Edit:
Dirty Rotten Pictures
How many shows has Greg actually missed? Any?
Ed: The DRS tour is going to be great. I'd imagine that they may promote some people in the ensemble to the leads but until we have official confirmation, we shall have to wait and see. I wonder when that will be... Updated On: 1/11/06 at 04:06 PM
ok, it could be a few different people. hmmmm...interesting.
I felt like I had something more to say...oh yeah. Cat, I can't give you an exact number but he had a week off at the end of June, he took the performance the night after QVC off, he was gone a whole Wednesday to record that thing right? That's all I could think of.

girls and boys, I am off to sleep with this sad news that there won't be a cam on Wednesday.
See you today Amanda. We will meet at 0.30am.
