because I'm bored I'm going to post the inspirational letter that I was forced (the seniors are making us do this) to write to my softball team. be warned - I wrote it in about five minutes. Here goes! And keep in mind it looks nicer in Word.
First of all I would like to thank the Academy for giving me this cha...
PSYCHE!
So here I am two days before our game against Eagle's View (by the way we CREAMED them in basketball in 9th grade, and ironically enough I don't think that their mascot is an eagle. Hmm.) and honestly I don't know what to say. I think we have come a long way this season- I don't know how many people agree with me- and I am proud we made it this far. Honestly at the beginning of the season I was thinking that we would have finished up last Tuesday. I'm happy I was wrong then, because who doesn't want to be able to say that they played in the District Championships a few years in a row? There are only 32 Class A teams that get this chance, so we should make the most of it. I'm fresh out of anything else inspirational to say, so I'll throw in a song lyric. I'm sure most of you know what's coming so here it is:
Don't stop, never give up [if you happen to strike out]
Hold your head high and reach the top [to catch those really high line drives]
Let the world see what you have got [but really there will only be a select few watching]
Bring it all back to you
Dream of falling in love [with the idea of winning]
Anything you've been thinking of [such as beating Eagle's View]
When the world seems to get too tough [such as riding in a crowded van]
Bring it all back to you
Na na na na.. [this part was really touching to me ]

Cat, I wrote a play called "All The World's a Stage." here is a one page synopsis:
"All The World’s A Stage is a thought provoking play in which God is a playwright and his first theatrical production is called Life. The characters are the people on Earth and the actors are the angels in Heaven. Every night, the actors are beamed up to Heaven from Earth and are given a script that they have to memorize during the time they are in Heaven (one night per day script). One actress, Rowena, does not like how God has written her character’s love life and tries for a few years to accept the life God has given her. One reason why she doesn’t like it is because she is in love with the God’s assistant, Kurt. When her character’s boyfriend proposes to her character, she feels that God has taken it too far. Her character breaks away from the script, and instead of saying yes, Rowena says that she has to think about it. God is furious when she reaches Heaven that night but agrees to have it her way. Rowena doesn’t actually believe him but accepts what he is doing. With a little twist at the end, God and Rowena solve their problems and are able to get on with their lives."
I wrote this Summer 2003. No idea when In My Life was written and my play is no way a copy of it. I got my idea from watching The Truman Show, then came up with the title when seeing a Growing Pains episode when Kurt is going into theatre and his professor says that line at the end of the episode (of course, he's quoting Shakespeare.) When I was making those playbill pics for Greg, I made this one first and found that picture, which is perfect and put it on here.
I can send it to anyone who is interested but it's not quite down yet. (Haven't worked on it in a while and haven;t had time.) I did send a rough draft of it to the National Young Playwright's Competition in NY and made it to the semifinals. so that is my story.
