Just watch some extra happy parts! I have some Queer As Folk DVD bonus features to watch, eeee!

I enjoy the "movie" immensely.

Well, I like... the movie... Dick Van Dyke will ALWAYS be awesome. ALWAYS.
Mary Poppins is one of my all-time favorite movies.
And here, I demonstrate my maturity...

No, no! I agree! I actually never saw Mary Poppins until I was about 16, and I fell in love with it. I want to buy the fancy DVD SOOO bad! I could watch that movie once a week for the rest of my life, I think. And I definitely had a crush on Dick Van Dyke in that movie.
I could see how that would happen. I don't think he's attractive, per se, but there's something attractive about a man who can dance. And I love his character. I wish I had a Burt.

I think it actually WAS more of a crush on Burt. What a great guy! And such a gentleman! And, yup, the dancing got me every time. I was watching an interview with him (maybe the DVD commentary, I can't remember) where he said he wasn't trained at all, that he just started dancing what they taught him and found it was easy. Those high kicks, gah!
That's just unfair.
Probably like Raul. Just "look at me, I can do high kicks! In leather!"
oy.

Meanwhile I can work for weeks, and still only look slighty graceful.
Mmm, high kicks in leather. So Raul's not really trained, either? I realize that I don't actually know much about this man's background!

Mm, dancing men. Hot dancing men.
I love Mary Poppins.
And Chitty the Movie.
And perhaps, someday, Chitty the "Movie"
And very soon, Cabaret the "Movie"

Oh, I love Mary Poppins. It's the best! And I find Dick Van Dyke *very* attractive. The dancing, plus the facial expressions! Heaven.
Whatever Raul decides to do next, I would *love* to see him do high kicks! In leather. Wow.
I know this is a little off the topic, but I was wondering if anyone here could give me a summary or plot synopsis of Comedians and The Green Violin.
I guess he has *some* training. He has a degree in theatre from NYU. They had to have taught him to dance at least a little. But he's one of those naturally-rhythmic sexy men.
They have the tapes at the Lincoln Center Library, Chrys. But I don't know anything about the shows.

But he's one of those naturally-rhythmic sexy men. My favourite kind!
Anyway, I have to go take a shower and do some cleaning. Then: work, I guess. *cries*

I think it's so great that he went to NYU. And I think it's super sweet that he was still able to stay in touch (and in a relationship) with his high school sweetheart through all of that. I mean... that's just sweet.
And NYC is a great school. Sometimes it's scary to think of how smart this man is.
hee. Lots of sweetness.
I want to go see him. And hug him. Even though he won't know why he's hugging me, I suspect a Raul hug will make it better.
He's so smart. It hurts me. I hear him talk and feel like a total idiot.

Aww! Well, I hope you can see him soon!
i think that's one of the things that kills me most...it's like, you KNOW that if you actually talked to him, you would have a great conversation...because he is just so incredibly smart on top of everything else!!! but i'm too chicken to ever try! haha. ohhhhh Raúl.
Maybe this week after my exams.
I love his story about why he auditioned for NYU. "Well, if SHE can get in, I can get in!!"
Broadway Legend Joined: 7/28/05
Haha. I remember reading that/hearing that somewhere. I had forgotten about it. That's too funny!
*pets ego*
Emcee, are you feeling any better?
If this audio of BoB can be found, I would love to hear it as well!
I LOVE Dick Van Dyke, in both Chitty and Mary Poppins, but Raul is better.
A little bit, actually. Coughing less.

I think it's hysterical that he went to NYU becuase of a snotty girl. So cute. Sheh was bragging, and didn't think he could get in. It just shows how defiant he is!
I found an interesting quote about Raul in Comedians: "Esparza, usually brilliant at his worst, maintains his high standards of excellence here, finding likable and even sympathetic qualities in Gethin, even as his exterior attitudes and prejudices render him immediately odious."
I think that's interesting. Raul's worst, would be many actor's most shining moment of excellence.
Well, that's good, anyway. At least you don't feel like you're going to cough your brains out anymore, I hope!
That IS really interesting, Chrys. I can't imagine how he could be bad, though.
Well, Chitty certainly isn't his best. So, I think that's totally valid. Even "bad" for Raul Esparza would be "brilliant" for some other actor. I also think that idea about finding likable qualities is totally valid -- look at the huge sweet side that Ned Weeks had. I mean, yes, part of him is supposed to be sweet, but I feel like Raul's version was probably sweeter than intended.
I lied. The sharp chest pains return.

Yes, I do think you are right about his portrayal of Ned. Kitten!
Oh the money I would pay to see his performance of Danny Zuko in Grease! I can imagine that might not have been his most "glorious" moment.
I also think it's hysterical that after his family saw him in ttB, their responce was something on the lines of "That was great. But we REALLY liked you in Grease."
