Okay guys, I have a question -
Since Chitty will most likely close on a Sunday - do you think Raúl will do the evening performance that night? Surely he wouldn't let his u/s do the very last show.
Well, Raul does have nice legs.
And probably, g -- he'd have tomatoes thrown at him otherwise. He can suck it up.
Chrys - I'm on my way out the door, so I'll see you tonight.
I sense yet another Chitty party on closing night...quite bittersweet.
Well, I had said I would be at Raul's last, so this'll be in place. I'm sad, but more surprised than anything else. It sounds like everyone's going to know about this before the press release.

I was thinking about calling ticketmaster to see why there is a hold on the January tickets and to see if they have any kind of idea or information.
I'm sad and shocked. And confused why people won't give this show a chance.
They may not know yet. Ticketmaster's annoying.
I think it goes to show that Disney's got a monopoly on the demographic Chitty plays to. That's sad.

It is sad. They are fighting for the same audience and I guess we all knew who would win.
It just increases my anger with Disney. grrrr.

It does make me angry. But it's so hard because it's not like Disney puts on half-ass shows. But I really think Disney is becoming more and more greedy.
They're just taking over! I mean, I'd like to think they didn't set OUT to create a total monopoly, even though that's obviously an incentive. I guess maybe they did, but I mean to say that I don't think they intended it in the malicious way of pushing other shows out, or killing their chances. Maybe they did, who knows?

Yeah exactly. And the thing that makes me really upset is that they are taking all of the big, beautiful theatres. And then they have these crazy long runs and hog them for years.
If Disney puts one of their shows in the Hilton after Chitty leaves... It would be hard for me to see it.
I don't think they've heard anything yet, but The Hilton doesn't seem to be on Disney's list. Yet.

That is good news.
So I'm guessing they won't even bother recasting Jemima, now.
Probably not. As long as Ellen doesn't spring up anymore in the next few weeks!

That's good. I like Ellen! Even if she doesn't pass for Henry's twin.
or Raul's child.

Hahaha. Exactly!
I've always wondered why they kept Jemima blonde for that reason.
Maybe their mother was blonde?
it does seem rather random...she was blonde in the movie too, though...so who knows?
ps - hi! i think i'm going to decree that we're not allowed to talk about Chitty closing anymore (until it's official anyway, then we will have a funeral. ). i just got back from watching a reeeally depressing movie and that made me even MORE depressed!!!

I think they were both blonde in the movie, right?

Um. Oh yeah, I think they were. I haven't watched it in a while! Shame on me.
Well, you know, you have better things!
hmm...if ibm hadn't messed up my computer, i could watch it...from the cover it looks like jemima's reeeeally blonde, and jeremy's like a really dirty blond. and dick van dyke's DEFINATELY not blonde. gahhh! i really want to watch it now. but dumb ibm...tomorrow, hopefully, my computer will be fixed! weeee!
I think I might have to send my computer away to be serviced. Urgh, IBM.
