We were right! Raúl is going to be a no-show at the parade. I think he's pretty much washed his hands of it. Not that I can really blame him.

Wonder how he liked the movie?

I was thinking about the same thing. It must especially be an experience for him given TTB.

Before it started, I saw him go over to talk to Al Larson and introduce his wife, not that I was staring or anything. I really wasn't though - just looked backed casually a few times. a complex fellow

He caught me staring at an earlier point and I felt so bad.

When we were talking to him, I felt so stupid because I was just standing there watching him and listening, and he would look at me occasionally, as he looked at everyone, in a really nice way, but I felt funny. I started talking a few times, but it's hard with so many people and it never really worked. :-/

I'm sure he's used to lots of staring.

It was good listening! He seemed really glad that we came over and was really interested in talking to us, well, them.

We did! Orangeskittles wanted to meet him, and he was just a bit away, so I was like "come on, go. You never know when you'll get the chance again." So Alix, wrq and I went with her, and we talked with him for a couple of minutes. He was really sincere and really sweet. He kept saying over and over how proud he is of TTB. Those eyes just pierce right through you. I think he's growing his hair again, too. He had it all slicked back.

Aww! I didn't even know he was going to be there. But how exciting. And how sweet of him to say those things about TTB!

And I could not be more happy about the hair! a complex fellow

It was wonderful to see him talk about TTB in person! And to also hear him talk so candidly and really openly. He was very genuine.

It's becoming easier for me to read peoples' responses, in a way. Like, he seemed to *get* that we weren't trying to bug him, but that we just wanted to say hi and pay compliments. Like, people asked him for autographs and things, but sometimes actually getting to be in normal human contact is better than something like that.
