You were *invited* to the party and still didn't go? Hmmm...
How would it be awkward if you already know so many people there?
I'd give my right eye to be invited to the parties I've had to crash to be able to talk to or even just hang out around the person I wanted to. Would make my life easier to just be asked.
I never know anyone except the person/people I'm with, but go anyway if I can, unless I'm obviously not dressed for the occasion and would stick out like a sore thumb.
Though crashing also makes for good stories and a lot of fun.
What was awkward, g?
I hope you guys all have a great time this afternoon. It's like the end of an era! I want to hear all about it.

I am new to this thread and since I didn't know how exactly to enter this thread... I couldn't possibly read all 10,000 posts, though I did skim through and saw a couple of pics.
I am going to enter with this:
I am a fan of Raul Esparza.
(hopefully I'll catch up)
Welcome, I think. Are you seriously going to read all of that?

Hooray Raul!
G, I think you should have gone to the party. Besides, you wouldn't really be alone. It would be cool, anyway. Well, at least you get to go to the last performance, eh?

Agh. Double post.
End of an era--when Chandler and Monica move in together(Gee, my mind's been a bit one-sided lately)
Have a fantastic time to anyone who's going!
It is! It's like the removal of a staple!
Ah, well. To bigger and better!
Like the time Chandler's co-worker that he had to fire stapled his hand--
God, last night was too Friends worldy for me, someone get me out of this funk! lol

A fey and swishy Raul in Act 1! Very amusing.
And who knows what that accent was? Touch of cockney?
Of course, I haven't seen it 3000 times, only 3 spread out over the run and the last time a month or 2 ago, so maybe he was acting that silly for a while.
Nice closing remarks by Raul. Said he was elected to give them.
Overqualified he said....ha ha!
G can probably give better details. G, was that you front row center with the green sweater or shirt on?
Sorry, gotta go to a party.
Fey and swishy. Way to be, Raul. *laughs* Sometimes methinks he just can't help it anymore.
I figured he's either be uber silly today, or he'd be bumming around the stage in a crappy mood. Glad to hear it's the former.
I can't wait to hear what his speech was!

yes G was in the green sweater and I was next to her. Where were you sitting??

Yes, that a was me in the green sweater.
The show was really great. The cast just gave it their all. It's hard for me to talk about, though. I still can't believe it's gone.
Erin caem back and closed the show. She looked VERY pregnant but she was wonderful. She and Raul and some really touching moments together. Raul got choked up during "Hushabye Mountain" and he and Erin both cried a bit during the beach scene.
It was a great show but it was really hard to watch the actors cry. During "Teamwork" all of the kids had tears streaming down their faces.
I cried like a baby when Raul said "Come on all, pile in" and they took off for the final flight. I cried through curtain call and then again during Raul's speech... Which was probably the most beautiful and touching thing. Gretch got some great pictures.
It was just really hard to say goodbye. We stayed outside after the show for a long time to say a final goodbye to everyone. A lot of the cast thanked Gretch and I for coming and supporting the show so much. Some of the girls stayed to wait for Raul but we left before he came out. So, I don't know if they got to see him or not.
I just felt like I didn't neet to talk to him. I had a great talk with him last week and I just wanted to leave it at that.
Anyway, It hasn't hit me yet that it's gone. It's such a pity.
Happy New Year, everyone!
I'm sad Chitty's gone, but it's been fun. I probably won't ever have as much fun at a show again.
Just two clarification questions: 1) The matinee today was the last show, right? Not the evening.(?)2) Erin actually did the whole show? That's happy. I'm glad.

<-- Ahem.
Summoning the set! (You'll get it if you've seen the American Theatre Wing video he's been in)
Glad you all enjoyed the show today, and g it's great that you get that kind of gratification from the cast for supporting the show so much.
I'm a little slow today, b/c I saw Em write Nina and I was like wait who's Nina, someone new? and I scrolled up to me and I was like huh? Until I remembered that was her name on Friends...now it was definitely first season, but...I can't remember what episode! Maybe it's the one w/ young Ethan b/c I remember there was that story and Rachel's dreams but I never remember that whole episode...or it could be the one w/ the girl who stole Monica's credit card, those were some of the first episodes I ever watched...
I'm glad they got a good send-off. Was the audience into it today?
That's so sad, when they cry. I'd have lost it then and there.
wow amazing!! i am very tired (four hours of sleep! only one cup of coffee!) anywho i was so happy i went. I met up with many of you, orangeskilles, angelic, greatdct... It was nice meeting everyone. THe show was great, many adlibs- erin saying i ate some of the bread from the picnic basket before (pointing to her belly!)... It was very sad. though. Rauls speech at the end was great, thanks for supporting us etc and also that everyone in the cast was overqualified. The cast was full of energy so was the audience. It was great to see that for the final show. After we did stage door it and saw most of the cast but about 6:15, orangeskittles, angelic1 and myself decided to leave because raul was not gonna come out. However went back to angelic's apartment and watched some raul and i am in love with that man! i can't believe i didn't really notice him until this year! where have i been? if you want anymore details about the show just ask. I know there will be more posts later! happy new year everyone!
That sounds like it was a ton of fun!
It was!! I'm bummed he didn't come out, but it was nice seeing so many of you. Erin was a real trooper, 6 1/2 months along, right? Raul's little speech at the end really made me sad, but it was good: the cast being overqualified was funny (and true) and he was right about it being cynical world, and Chitty is a nice break from reality. It shall be missed (by me at least). I have a feeling this'll be a slow thread until 'Company', so keep spreading the love.
