Love that photo! Do you think Raul will wear a tux to the Tonys?

Hello, new thread!
I'm getting nervous for him...
Hurry the hell up, Drama Desk!
Yaaaay!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! Love the tie. :)
I love him times infinity.
Lovely speech. Especially kind to mention Barbara, as she deserved to get that one.
Wow, Michele. I adore him. I just can't say it enough.
Such a great speech. I think I love him a little more now. :)
Congrats to Raul!
Oh, congrats to Raul!! I'm so thrilled for him!
(What an opportune time for the new thread!)
Yay for Part 3!
And YAY for Raul! I'm so excited for him!! :)
What did he say in his speech? Was this televised outside of NYC? I live in Buffalo, so... lol
So if I were to hypothetically be making an 'I love Raul' cd for my friend, what songs should I hypothetically put on it? She loves tick... tick...BOOM!, and I've just gotten her into Company, but can you guys suggest any other songs I could include?
I figured if I could find help anywhere, it would probably be here... :)
Songs that are not in TTB and Company?
From Rocky Horror: Time Warp
From Taboo: Freak/Ode to Attention Seekers, Sexual Confusion, Petrified
Hair, from the Actors' Fund Benefit CD
O Tannenbaum, from Carols for a Cure
And if you can get your hands on mp3's of them, Simple Joys, Not While I'm Around and There's a Sucker Born Every Minute
Sweet. Thanks Emcee! I knew that this would be the right place to come.
I have to (sadly) admit that I've never heard the Taboo recording (it's the George Micheal/Rosie connection that's turned me off of it thus far)... I'll have to track it down.
You should really give it a listen. It's beautiful. One of the best scores I've heard in a long time.
Cool. I'll definitely pick it up. (I'll listen to the Raul tracks first to ease myself into it, of course)
Congrats to Raul on the Drama Desk Award!
And, yay Part 3! (Even if I rarely posted on 1 and 2)
Delurking...
His acceptance speech was VERY fine (just as I expected it would be). So honest and full of grace. What he said to Michele at the end at least made my heart go pitter pat.
Lucky me, I have a ticket for a 2nd row center seat next Friday night! I won't be looking up his nostrils, will I?
I saw Company in Cincinnati last April, and I have been obsessed about him since then. I happened to see him leave the theater (and light up a cigarette...I was shocked and dismayed), but was too awed by his performance to walk up to him. It was only afterwards that I found out he had played all those other very astoundingly different roles. I've spent a lot of time on that other sight watching in awe at his clips. So sad I can't see the one of him as the MC anymore.
For some reason, I only recently found this thread. How come it's on the West End board?
Anyhow, I feel soooo relieved he won tonight. I'm very happy for him...he's deserves this so much.
I've loved musical theater for over 40 years now and I've seen a lot of shows and have even been a community theater producer, so I think I know something. Yes, this guy is indeed special.
Listen to the fuzzy, but complete recording of him singing Sondheim's "Not While I'm Around" on his website, if you haven't already. He's better than Streisand.
Oh, Raul!
Hi!
West End board? We're on the off-topic board... do they share an OT board, maybe?
Second row seats are great. The acting is incredible up close.
This is the Off-Topic board, not the West End board...
Clayford, there's a giant thread on the main board that had the link to the streaming broadcast on Theatremania's website. It's been there all night.
How had this not been posted to commemorate the new thread?
You must get the Taboo recording, it is fabulous! In fact I just watched both a Taboo & tick...tick...BOOM *coughvidcough* today.
Congrats to Raúl on his Drama Desk win!!
Oh and yay, I am finally on the first page of a Raúl love thread!
