Em the infallible is absolutely correct. The ShowPeople photo is a match. I suppose they couldn't use this one because the magazine would have ignited!
Sorry about your bad week. Look at it this way - tomorrow is part of the weekend, so all the bad karma won't affect it!

now THAT is some chest hair..
We're not taking a computer, so I'll talk to you all on Saturday!
And....they're OFF!! (cue road trip music)
I am so jealous of those going to OUR TOWN. We should have had one of them wear a wire. But it is a beautiful day to be in the Berkshires.
I can't wait to hear about it!!
Time to wake up! How was it, fearless travelers?
Maybe Raulito and Michele invited them for tea and cigarettes at their Berkshire hideaway...
Or maybe it's a long car ride back from the Berkshires and they probably hadn't even LEFT at 10am, so the demands for reviews are illogically premature...
For whatever it's worth, I got a text message that Raul was great in the reading, and a certain yellow jacket made an appearance. But right, as skittles said, anyone who went is probably still traveling back since it's sort of out of the way.

Fishdancer, don't you think it's a bit bizarre to constantly reference his estranged wife like that? Your idolization of what is truly a sad situation is a bit disturbing. I'm guilty of irreverence at times, but I don't understand putting an obviously very troubled marriage on a pedestal of sorts.
At any rate, I hope all who traveled to the Berkshires had a great time.
Just kidding guys - I didn't realize they were staying over, and assumed they came back Friday night. Whatever...
Not that I'm trying to defuse a potentially....heated situation here, but I've got a technical question.
Has anyone else been having problems with BWW in the last couple of days/evenings? I've been getting server error messages and what looks like long screens of code sometimes when I try to surf the site. The other night (Thursday?) it did that for like 90 minutes. Just a short while ago I experienced the same problem, but it seems to have gone away now, since this posted just fine.
I don't know if it's BWW or me and my poor struggling computer....
I had trouble signing on just now. Too much traffic on the site on Saturday night, maybe?
I don't know if they are estranged and it's really none of my business. I'm sorry if anyone thought there was anything serious or truthful about my comment.
I hope the travelers are having a safe trip. It's a long drive, and there are a lot of folks up there this time of year.

I'm not going to get into an in-depth argument (really! I swear!), but I find it really hard to believe that you didn't have any idea that they don't exactly have a happy marriage, especially given that NY Times article from last year. I don't think anyone thought you were serious, but it struck me as bizarre to even mention that marriage in an idealistic context.
And why is there a need to "diffuse" this situation? I was responding to something that was posted, not attacking him/her out of thin air. Are we suddenly not allowed to have any form of discourse?
Thanks for confirming that, Keen. I get a little twitchy when I'm suddenly cut off like that.
Siamese Dream, I guess my pale little attempt at humor failed. That often happens in cyberspace. I apologize.
The thing is, Raúl has made it quite clear that Michele is a very important part of his life, regardless of any irregularities in their relationship. So I don't really find it out of the realm of possibility that they took the opportunity of the Williamstown gig to spend a few days together away from the city. Perhaps I'm being naive, but the only people who can define what makes that marriage "happy" are Raúl and Michele. We are just on the outside looking in, through one small portion of a multi-faceted windowpane.

You're right - none of us know whether they are truly happy (although I certainly don't think that NY Times article painted the picture of a man completely comfortable and happy with his personal life), but again, I don't feel that their situation is one that should be referenced in an idealistic context.
It's not possible to know anything for sure, but there are indications (to say the least) that Raul and Michele aren't all rays of sunshine as a couple. Not knowing the status of their relationship, it is strange to reference them as happy marrieds. I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it, though. We probably have to avoid being too presumptuous in either direction about their couplehood (personal opinions on the subject aside).
keen on kean, Emcee said on this page that they'd be back on Saturday.

And especially given that last month, fishdancer caused another conflict on this thread after asking for confirmation that Raul's "other man" had certain initials.
I don't see how you can excuse your misstep with a claim that his marital problems are none of your business, after months of giving him cutesy nicknames and other references to his personal life. Their estrangement (discussed in the NYTimes) isn't your place, but joking about a "Berkshire hideaway" is? Where is the logic in that defense?

Hi everyone - I, the driver, am home. The rest of the gang are on the train/subway going home and probably will arrive shortly. The trip was great. We stayed today to see a matinee of Crimes of the Heart, that's why we just got home.
I'm sure everyone else will elaborate, especially since I'm still seeing the double yellow rode lines in front of my eyes right now...
Anyway, I don't know what to say. Raul was great as the Stage Manager; he hammed up some of the lines that didn't call for it, and swallowed a lot of his words, but other than that he gave a fantastic performance. The other actors and apprentices were very impressive as well. I would have preferred if it were a fully staged version of the show, because the blocking adds a lot to it, I think. But overall, seeing Raul read the part of the Stage Manager is something I will never forget, since it's one of my favorite works of literature. It meant a lot to me. And yes, the line where the SM acts as Mrs. Forrest was hysterical!
Well, it's clear to me that some of you are still angry with me for my mistake last month.
I'm feeling picked on and I am genuinely astonished by the depth of analysis and the extent of the negative assumptions and (wrong) interpretations being made about what was intended as just a silly comment.
Sadly, many of you have assumed the worst.
Sorry to have jumped to conclusions over what was probably just a throwaway comment.
Hmm, somehow I don't picture hammy and the Stage Manager going well together. How'd that work out?
Except notice how I didn't respond to your initial silly comment about "Raulito" and his wife. Your ridiculous excuse is the problem. Like I said, you can't claim one aspect of Raul's personal life is none of your business to excuse your faux pas when you've actively sought out information about his personal life in the past. I'd actually forgotten about that incident until I clicked on your profile and the "Who's the other man" post was in the top 20 most recent.
But hey, if you want to play the victim instead of owning up to your blatant hypocrisy, by all means, continue pretending no one can see it for themselves.
