Honestly, I figured it was just because he had time off and didn't have to keep it a certain way for a job. I hope he keeps it, though. It looks really great.
I agree, humbug. Perhaps many don't, because they don't need to.

I know that at my college, the operas and plays that weren't mainstage were not amp'd at all. So I guess the opportunity to learn in a scholastic setting exists, but I don't know where it does for a professional actor who didn't train in that environment.
Keen, I was wondering about the hair too. I picture Lenny as having hair on the longer side. I don't think his character should be too coiffed and put together at all, but still handsome and attractive enough so that you can picture why he's able to take advantage of people and get away with it. I don't think Raul will have any trouble conveying that. He can be appealing in a dark and somewhat eerie way, I think.
I suppose this question is kinda moot, since nobody said anything, but -- was there any opportunity for....interaction with Raúl before or after the show?
I picture Lenny like... kind of disheveled and not put together.
I saw Lenny as carelessly attractive, somewhat rough around the edges.
And thanks for the recaps! I'm glad the reading was so much fun. I doubt I'll be able to see Homecoming, but yes - Raul in a play is absolutely fabulous.
Hmmm. I think I see Lenny as neat and perhaps rather fastidious. Like -- he fancies himself a "businessman" and attempts to look the part, although not always successfully.
I picture Lenny as having that English semi-disheveled look - with the hair a little longer curling over his collar a little, but a nice dark suit. You're right, humbug - "businessman".

nice, dark suit? that sounds familiar
Maybe the Armani without the belt buckle?
Of course, there's also the scene where Lenny is wearing....nighttime attire.
Well, perhaps far less sophisticated than darling Robert.
Hee, pajamas.
Too bad Pinter is so specific about what Lenny is wearing in that scene....
You don't mean to imply that they reduce the costume, hm?

oh boy
Maybe they'll leave a button or two undone. You know, as a favor to the loyal.
Moi? Now, really!
I guess it depends on how....reverently they're going to handle Pinter.
Gee! Maybe they'll allow him to show a little....chest hair!

artistic license ... night attire can be subjective, I guess?
Well, the text does say "pyjamas and dressing-gown" but the style and shape is open to interpretation.
Hmmm - I see silk....lots of silk....or maybe not a =lot= of silk....

Raul and silk? That combination of words just gave me a mental image of Hugh Hefner in his robe, lol
Well, I mean, Lenny =is= a pimp, after all. (No disrespect to Hef!)
Can I just say that I pictured one of those funny litle night hats? I have no idea why, because it's not even chronologically accurate.
Oh, Em! Maybe your brain is still in "Our Town"'s time?

lol I didn't even connect that, humbug. Raul in a robe with a pimp hat.
Night hats just remind me of Wee Willy Winky. I picture Raul standing there holding a half burned candle in a holder with slippers
*going to take a cold shower*
Night hats remind me of like, little old men with candle lanterns. And when I used to put socks on my stuffed animals' heads.
