I'm with Em on that one. He's looking to start some speculation.
I'm sorry, this is so incredibly random, but DID YOU GUYS KNOW THAT THERE'S A SHOWTUNES CHANNEL?!
I just found it. Amazing.
I don't get that. But we do get the BYU channel, despite being nowhere near BYU or any major Mormon population.

On the radio or on tv? There's a good on on XM, which I .... don't have.
Which station, Elphie? are you in NY?
I think it's on TV. I used to have it, heh.
Wow... I read "ejaculation" instead of "speculation".
I used to try and listen the showtunes channel, but they never played any of the more recent stuff, or at least stuff I knew.
Back to the Drama Desk panel discussion - just for balance on Raul's behalf - Raul also advised actors to "get a life outside the theatre. Remember we're part of a world that's so much bigger than ourselves." So there!
...and that's a little too much information than I cared to know about Ted Haggard.
The quotes are, frankly, not-so-flattering and borderline funny. "You will cry, I will cry"? I'm sure it read MUCH better in context, because I think Raul almost invariably has a beautiful way of phrasing things, but pulled out it sounds like he cries himself to sleep every night to Spring Awakening. Very morose and angsty. Updated On: 6/24/07 at 11:45 AM
The channel's on TV. Channel 630 or 637 or something like that.
Heh, I rushed today and got the same seats I had and didn't use on Thursday.
Great, em! Let us know how the performance was, please.
So...I know this is backtracking a few weeks, but someone finally uploaded the clip of David Hyde Pierce winning the Tony this year. I hadn't seen it (I was there and I think I had my hands over my face because right at the last second I had a bad feeling), and I just watched now and didn't see any real reaction in Raul's face. The jaws of the other 4 nominees (including Hyde Pierce) dropped, but Raul's reaction looked much more stoic than I thought it would have after all the discussion about it.
Maybe it was just due to the small screen on youtube, but I just watched it about ten times and thought he looked the LEAST suprised.
I just found the clip on that site, and do you know, I just couldn't watch it! I am so over the Tonys now that it would just be a shame to go back. I think the word stoic is perfect for his reaction, though.
I have been listening to tick, tick...BOOM! all day. Sorry I missed that one - fun to listen to, great to raise my spirits.
Has anyone heard anything about Raul's post-COMPANY plans?
It's probably too soon for him to have anything lined up professionally. On a personal level, he could probably use a vacation just to relax.
Of all of Raul's earlier work that I wish I could've seen, it's a pretty close call between tick, tick...BOOM! and The Normal Heart. I think I would go for the latter just because of the sheer force of that piece and performance, but ttB gets to me in a way that few other things do.

Hey there,
I pulled together an Amazon list of Raul's recorded work. Let me know if I missed anything...

Amazon - Appreciating Raul Esparza
Ed, this is fabulous! Thank you so much - fun to read your comments. Amazon got one additional sale from me based on your list.
I'm not aware of anything else that's available -
Well, that's all that's available for sale on Amazon, heh.
In case anyone is interested:
Charlie Rose
You're welcome.
FYI - You can actually see the whole Charlie Rose interview on Google's video service for free. Raul looks really wide-eyed and young.

I agree that it's probably to soon, since this closing was on such short notice. He'll probably disappear and take some time off for a while, but I'm sure he'll resurface soon enough.
em, how was the show today?
It was great. The audience was so into the show, and the cast is really at the top of their game for the last few shows. And I'm... slowly getting ready to say goodbye, I guess. I'm just enjoying the moment and trying not to be too sad. The front box is one of my favorite places to sit; I just love the view.
I've definitely noticed the past two weeks or so have been even more wonderful than I remember. They all look like they're really taking in every minute.
I love that Charlie Rose interview. I saw it referenced in one of the articles on Raul's press page back when I was first sort of discovering his work, and asked about it on BWW and someone very kindly ordered it and sent it to me once they'd watched it. I so admire Charlie as an interviewer, anyway -- he's done some of my favorite entertainment interviews (the ttB panel, James Spader, Sam Mendes, Stephen Colbert) as well as fascinating political ones. I actually emailed the show via their guest suggstions/comment email suggesting that they interview John Doyle about Company, but no dice, apparently. Updated On: 6/24/07 at 07:19 PM
I'll admit that there have been times where I've felt more proverbial electricity than I did today, or last weekend, but they're still doing a remarkable job, definitely. I was lucky to be at a handful of performances that were so enthralling and intense that I will never, ever forget them. They were special circumstances, though, so I know nothing will ever top those.
