I'm not an actor, but I find it oxymoronic that an actor can be so incredibly shy. I also find it endearing, but for someone to prance around on stage for 2 hours and then be so timid in real life fascinates me. I always thought that being outgoing and boisterous went hand in hand with being an actor.

I think it has something to do with how they place their energy. Like for me, I am not an actor, but I am very outgoing when I am with my friends and family, and I know that it takes a lot of energy so when I meet new people I am much more reserved than usual. I think after being on stage for 2 hours and then coming to the stage door it can be very exhausting. But when these people are with their friends they are probably more outgoing- like when I was waiting for Raul and he was talking with a big group of friends and being all silly and loud. It's just awkward when someone shoves a Playbill in your face and tells you that they love you, lol . I can’t imagine trying to talk with someone who ‘knows’ me but we’ve never met- it’s a very strange concept.

I think it makes a lot of sense for an actor to be an introvert; just as much as it makes sense for one to be an extrovert, but in a very different way. You have actors who are, in general, attention-loving and totally uninhibited, and then others who are quiet and shy, but are uninhibited on stage because when they're up there, they have a character behind which to hide -- they become someone else.
Yeah, I agree. And I find that introverts are often more cerebral, soul-searching kinds of actors. Introversion vs. extraversion basically depends on whether you draw your energy from primarily internal reflections or from the outside world. I think that some actors are probably a mixture of both, but most people fall on one side or the other.

Backing up a bit, but THANK YOU. You have no idea how many times I had to repeat that in my sociology class. Everyone assumes that extroversion equals "outgoing and talkative," which is completely untrue. Yes, there's a correlation, but I think there are far more introverts out there than there seem to be.
ANYway, I think Raul should stick to his contact lenses.

I love the glasses . I want the documentary released... *whines*
I love the glasses.
I think my signature quote might be annoyingly long, and that's after I edited it more than I wanted to.

The glasses cover his beautiful eyes.
I love your signature, Ashley.
Thank you. I love it, too, but it's also a little bittersweet.
The whole show is bittersweet. I really like it though, especially that scene.
I think my favorite scenes are the ending, "Opening Doors" and the scene after Frank comes back from the cruise and they sing "Old Friends." They make me so happy/sad. I think I'm going through a phase where I can relate to that show a lot right now.
I really like those too. "Our Time" is such a gorgeous song.

I love that scene, that speech. It feels so much like where I am in my life. I just hope me and my friends never end up hating each other.
