Most. Adorable. Picture. Ever.
I just love me a man in plaid!
So much makeup!
Wow, I'd never noticed his bow-tie before. Classy.

I've never seen the black and white one before. That's a lot of makeup, boy. And... velvet? oookay.

Lol, I never noticed the fabric before... I like it though, it's a cute picture. <3 Taboo.
Aw, he looks cute in the black and white one though.
My focal point in the Cabaret picture is so inappropriate.

Personally, I can't decide between the nipples (I don't see glitter ), the happy trail, or the crotch.
But they're bright reeeed. hee.
Happy trail, no question. Then again, the suspenders take you right down.
Psh, not me. The suspenders.

I was tempted to comment on Rentsecrets that I didn't think Adam was the most attractive Emcee, but then it wouldn't be Rent-related, so I refrained.

hehe
He's kinda sorta Rent-related.
I feel like I found Adam more attractive, if only because... he still looked like Adam, at least moreso than Raul looked like himself. And, you know, his arms. Even though Emcee should ideally be kinda scrawny. But while Adam beat out Raul just on physical attraction, for me, Raul wins on ALL counts of blatant sexual innuendo. Or, not even innuendo. It was so straight-forward.
That makes sense, Em. I think that the character itself is automatically attractive, especially appearance-wise (hello, that outfit!). Adam does look more like himself, and I think that Raul's appearance is a little creepier and like... otherworldly. It's actually really impressive how they slightly redid the Emcee look for each of the replacements so that they could put their own touch on it.
I like that, too -- and not only was it slightly altered for each actor, but that they got to have a part in creating it.
Raul was just so much more "you want me, don't you? Yes, I know you do."

I've always wondered if that was because Raul is just the better actor or because Raul is more comfortable expressing himself sexually in front of a huge crowd. It's probably a bit of both, I suppose.
Both, probably; I don't know if I'd necessarily chalk it up to HIS sexual expression as much as the fact that at that point (and still) he'd played more sexually expressive (and ambiguous) roles -- he expressed fear of Rocky Horror (though I don't know of what aspect, could've been anything), but that's certainly blunt about its sexuality.
Granted, Raul's the one who shamelessly grabs himself in front of a crowd in one of the biggest houses on Broadway.
But I agree that it's probably both. Adam didn't shy away from any of it, but he didn't really ham it up as much as Raul did. Raul is a lot more daring.
It's possible that Raul is just more easily able to completely immerse himself in the character to the point where it's not his sexuality that's being expressed because it's not him up there, so he feels comfortable doing whatever. I always think of that story about him practically getting into a fight with an audience member during Comedians, and then explaining it afterwards as that *he* would never have done that, but the character would, and that's why it happened.
Exactly. And that comes with being a better actor; could be a natural thing, or all of his training. I think it's really interesting that he often describes it as "hiding" behind a character, rather than becoming immersed in the character.
I brought up the HAIR example not for like... the sake of being explicit, but because even though he'll find a character to "be" in most concert contexts, that didn't appear to be such an instance. It was just Raul being silly.
heh, Raul's version of Not While I'm Around just popped up on iTunes. I still love it, even if I get made fun of for it. :)
