The Official Raúl E. Esparza "Spread the Love" Thread, part two

There's a line in The Drowsy Chaperone about someone who loved theatre, and this one scene in particular with a Spanish guy who was "The King of Romance," was her favorite, perhaps because of her fantasy to be swept off her feet by a Latino lover.
.... just thought I'd share.

I missed the Raul thread the past couple of days!
How did you like Drowsy Chaperone, Em?

I liked it quite a bit!
I'm working on a review.

Posted: 5/12/06 at 12:12amI tooootally forgot a lot of the things I wanted to say. When I write for school, I bring a pen and paper with me, but I didn't tonight; this was strictly for fun.

Posted: 5/12/06 at 12:17amI hate it when that happens! I always think, "Ooh, I need to remember this to be able to tell about it," and then end up forgetting. But as you said, it's just for fun.

I'm glad you liked it, Em. I'm seeing it on the 21st.

Posted: 5/12/06 at 4:33pmI really want to see it. I'm excited.

Posted: 5/12/06 at 4:46pmI'm going with school, so I'll probably be in the last row or somehting. Is the theater big?

That's good! I'm sure it will be more crowded after the Tonys, though. :-/
Yesterday, I made my dad listen to Raul sing "Love Changes Everything", and he liked it at a lot.

It's mid-sized, I'd say. Not too big, not to small. The overhang is fairly low down, so even the last row is fine.
I was listening to Sometimes a Day Goes by before. I love those lyrics.

It's a drama department thing. I've always played in the pit or been on stage crew, so I've been able to go the past few years.

I lost my Chess recordings. All of 'em, just gone. Poof. Disappeared. >_<
Can anyone tell me where I can find them?

A little bump for the brilliant Raul!
I'm sorry, gg. I can't help you, though - I don't even have any Chess recordings. :/
This might cheer you up, though...I don't want to post a link, for obvious reasons, but go to the-site-that-is-not-to-be-named (yo*t*be.com) and search for "Raul Esparza Petrified."

He looks yellow. Still cute though, unless he has hepatitis and that's *why* he's yellow...but, yeah. Sorry. Heh. Cute.

Posted: 5/14/06 at 12:58amIt's the lighting; his shirt is actually white, not green. The show used a lot of splotches of really bright colored lighting here and there.
#2748To great talent...
Posted: 5/14/06 at 1:01amI still never figured out the significance of the colored lighting in some scenes, if there was any. I would think that it was symbollic, though, given the rest of the sets and lighting.

Posted: 5/14/06 at 1:02amAww, that's sad! I thoght he was wearing a bright yellow/green shirt, and it made me happy.

I think it was more to give very stark highlight to things that were symbolic, rather than the colors themselves being symbolic.
Elphie, it's all black and white.
