To great talent...

I want to make him my avatar. I might have to.

To great talent...

"Find Me Guilty" was a really good movie. Go see it! It was funny, touching and riveting. I was really impressed by Vin Diesel's performance. I'm not a movie critic by any means, so, I'm sure that this post will do no justice to the movie whatsoever, but I was entertained! Raúl's performance as Tony was crazy. He was everything you want a paranoid crackhead to be! The scene with Tony on the stand was so full of quiet intensity I literally had a knot in my stomach through the scene waiting for something to happen... It's truly an amazing performance.

I'm so excited. My big point of curiousity is whether he's going to be as riveting and intense on camera as he is on stage -- which I think he will be because he's talented enough to make the leap and not lose any of his spark.

About how long is he in the movie for?

Ahh, that's so awesome, gillygalls! Good for Raul. To great talent...

All I know of Raul's acting is what comes across on cast recordings. Even based only on that, I've been impressed. I hope I have a chance to see this movie (your reccomendation makes me want to see it even more, gillygalls!) and actually get to see him in action, so to speak.

Please forgive me for this threadjack, but, CS, that Raul picture is so freaking cute! Since it's inspired an Adam one (hey, supposedly one of the signs of great art is that it inspires more art To great talent...), I was thinking (this is definitely off-topic, and I'm sorry to be grabbing the idea and running with it, but still...) um...a Mano picture, anyone?
#1435

To great talent...

The "brooding intensity" (one of my favorite published phrases about him) sounds like it'll be in full force!

A Mano picture is in the works, I just have to figure out how I'm doing it.
#1437

To great talent...

I just made a Mano picture, but it's nowhere near as cool as yours.

Raúl is in the movie for about 25 or so minutes. He's in the first scenes for like 5-10 minutes and then again toward the end of the movie for a good 15 minutes.

The man is a master at using facial expressions and using his eyes... There are a lot of close ups on Tony while he's on the witness stand and there are moments where his eyes bug out in a panic and it made me just as uncomfortable as Tony was up there.

Oooh, that's so much longer than I expected. Now I really want this to go into wider release. Get thee to the theaters, you people who are in cities. To great talent...

HE IS HOTT! or at least his voice is. I wish they made a cast recording of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I can still hear him sing Hushabye Mountain.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

oh Hushabye Mountain... I would by a cd with just that track over and over if it were Raúl singing it!

SS - The character is mentioned over and over during the course of the movie, so when you get to see the movie, you'll see why he's actually in there for that amount of time. The prosecution's case is pretty much based on Tony's testimony.

My mother must have amnesia. We're arguing and she completely forgot about her parade-ruining comments.

I may just be arrested for assault... my roommate just told me that Raúl is hideous. I'm doing my best to convince her otherwise but in about two seconds she's getting a fist in the nose!!!

God, I don't want to HEAR this from her. Raul... Anthony... my mother needs a reason to dislike EVERYBODY in my life. Even my actual friends, but this hurts more because these are people I admire.

She wouldn't want to hear the truth, because it's WEIRD.
